Filling was all replaced yesterday at the dentists after they made me wait for over an hour. I don’t understand why they bother with appointments if they are constantly that late ( grrrrrrr!)
So £120 lighter and a sensitive tooth but at least it’s reoaired
Went to collect big brother today- his gf hasn’t come ascshe isn’t answering her phone- bro is a bit worried as she’s been prescribed anti depressants and is low however he’s still come over. Made a spicy Kung Pao chicken for dinner which brother loved and chilled watching some films & chatting.
Ordered a hoodie in the superdry sale that I’ve been eyeing up- £30 instead of £60 and put loads of beads into my baskets on beading/silversmithing sites but have promptly closed them down and not checked out! Must resist!
We made brother & gf a Christmas Eve box with pjs, slipper socks, slippers each, whittarss hot choc, mugs, chocolate spoons & mini marshmallows, a dvd boxset and nail varnish. I wrapped it this morning in that vellum/acetate paper but am now worried about giving it to big bro in case it upsets himhmmmmm
No more OPs in the past few days, but food shopping came in £20 under budget this week despite all the christnas foods. Whoop! :A the cranberry compote has been made this evening and is in the fridge ready for Monday.First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

So that’s Christmas all done for another year. We all had a lovely time- brother loved his Christmas Eve box and seemed really pleased with his gifts
He also bought us loads of very thoughtful gifts which was unexpected butblovely- he assured me he had been putting money aside across the months so could afford it. The turkey crown from lidl went down well on Christmas Day, we also had gfs parents over for dinner that day so made mum a spicy pasta bake to eat with the trimmings (she loves pasta). The homemade cranberry compote and also the Christmas cake seemed to be a big hit with everyone too.
We’ve driven my brother back home this afternoon- 4.5hr round trip so we’ve had ‘buffet’ supper tonight to avoid mcdonalds- it seemed almost criminal to eat out when we have so much here to munch on!
Paid to have my old iPhone unlocked today- plan being to then give that to my brother so he had a more up to date one and can use one of our basic fitbits wit the app (app is not compatible with his older iPhone model annoyingly). Brother is dead chuffed with getting a new (to him) phone & Fitbit- we’ve ordered him a new snazzy strap too
We’ve not heard from his gf at all, we’ve all sent her messages etc, we’re hoping she’s all ok, just needing some time alone. Christmas can be a tough time- I’m very grateful that my brother is off the streets (it’s been ten years now that he’s had accommodation of sorts) and that his medication is allowing him to have a good life. Very thankful.
Right off to read the Australia lonely planet book and get super excited about holidays!First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Thanks Debtfreeoneday & Newgirly- Christmas was lovely, truly lovely. Brother isn’t always good around people, especially men but gfs dad chatted to him lots and really included him. What was lovely was that my brother got them some chocolates and they got him some biscuits and a smelly set- so lovely to see both sides of the family being welcoming and just lovely
Gf and I did practical presents- I bought her a new lunch bag, some cutesy socks, slipper socks, a chocolate penguin (reminder of our first date) a magazine subscription for three months that she loves that also has a gift of fancy shampoo, conditioner & hair masque addressign an issue she is conscious of
She got me a new thermal Starbucks mug in bright red (mine are looking quite tatty from daily use!) some hazelnut syrup and the shampoo and conditioner set I love but won’t buy as it’s expensive!
Heard from brothers gf early this morning- she went into the hospital on Christmas Eve which is I assume why we didn’t hear from her (her phone was off, she wasn’t on any messenger apps etc). Feel awful that she was there for Christmas- I just hope that it was the right place for her and that she had some help she needed. Awaiting to hear more on this, will check in with my brother later when I know he’s awake.
Been up and contacted Sky- the box has stopped working again, this time on Christmas Eve so we have no tv upstairs and only currently showing tv. This has happened twice now- last time we were offline for 2.5 weeks but still paying the bills I’ll (!) first world problems I know!
Also called my bank and done some bank transfers and money shuffles. More to do once we’ve ensured we have recorded everythingwashing machine aching had been on and the clothes are now drying drying, floors all hovered and the dishes done. More chores to do to restore the house back to normal.
Am going to have a cuppa and then crack back on!First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Gifts sounded perfect. I know brothers gf not good but hope she is where she needed to be and will get the help she needs and she has a lovely supportive family by association to be part of if that is right for her. When you've finished with the industrial house clear up could you pop round and do a turn here maybe?Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

A bit tired from the cleaning up- finding myself getting easily distracted with other jobs that need doing. So far today I have:
-Hovered all floors
-Two loads of washing
-Called debenhams to get a refund on the faulty lamp (£120 to Ben credited back!)
-Got the sky visit booked for Wednesday- and got a credit for the time we’ll be without tv as well as when it last happened (£27 back so not too bad)
-Cleaned out two cupboards- washed them down and cleared off the non-stick Matt’s. Did the same with the three drawers and binned any clutter
-cleaned two toilets,
-cleaned hob and the hood
-stainless steel cleaned the sink & draining board
Still to do- mop kitchen floor, clean all cupboards (gloss shows any smears from wiping them down!), clean bathroom floors and sinks
Hopefully that should do for todayFirst home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
