I enjoyed Pitch Perfect 3. Silly, but entertaining. (We followed it with Jumanji. All the serious films in the this family).
Oooh Jumangi is on our list- we have one more set of free cinema tickets to used before mid Jan so may see that, or Mollys game which also looks pretty goodFirst home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!0 -
So sorry to hear about your brothers girlfriend i do hope things will settle down very soon .
On a lighter note though well done on your OP and Happy New Year to you both.0 -
Happy New Year KK.
Hope it's a great one for you.
Now that you have shared even more about your brothers gf, I can relate with my sister even more. I don't think mental health issues should ever be taken lightly/not believed. But sometimes you do have to wonder if part of the behaviour is simply being done out of manipulation, bratty-ness, getting what they want, purposely upsetting people for fun, etc.
I hope things get better soon, and that your family is coping okay0 -
Happy New Year KK! Well done on the overpayments and I hope your brother's gf gets well soon. xMortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000.
Aiming to be mortgage free by my 40th birthday, June 2026!0 -
Jumanji is delightful. Jack Black is a very convincing teenage girl.
Molly's Game does look very interesting too, we are toying with it. We have unlimited cards so try and make good use of them.
Especially as it sounds that you and gf could use some mindless escapism with everything else going on.0 -
Ohhh Michelle, that does sound good.
Gf booked us in for Mollys game on Friday evening, but we have one more free ticket which we’ll try to us on a bogof night and see Jumanji if we can
I have returned to work this week and found it very daunting. I’m still taking the medication and have had one last CBT call today which went well. Just have to keep practicing the techniques and working through the anxiety.
On a very very exciting note we have finally booked the Grand Prix tickets for Singapore!! We spent ages comparing the tickets as there is a multitude to chose from, but Think we’ve settled on the right ones for us
Next step is the flights to Singapore then onto Sydney!!! Eeeeeeeeeeeek!! Not MSE really but we are frugalising where possible and ploughing pennies into savings to really ensure we have a fantastic holiday!:heartpuls

Exciting stuff! Especially the GP - I'm very envious! MFW is all about finding the balance, living life and making every penny count - I think that covers the trip down under!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Yes totally TheMadVix, it’s all about balance & financials freedom to do the things you love!
The week at work is done and glad I’ve gone back- I’m on shorter days next week (two hours earlier finish) which should help ease me back in.
We have now booked our flights- wahooo! We are flying to Singapore, then onto Sydney. We’ll fly home from cairns a few weeks later. Hurrah! 249 days to go, and loads of time for more saving!
We had the news of a family wedding in July in Italy so we are trying to work out the travel for that and keep it within budget. Funny how we went from no holidays last year to two this year
Mollys Game was a great film, the cinema staff were fab as turned out gf bought tickets for Wednesday - oooops! They sorted it out for us with no issues. We took in water bottles, some pretzels and dried fruit trying to be both money savvy and diet savvy!
The weight I had gained whilst off work has come off already- yay! Now 3.9kg to lose which will be hard but we have dates in the diary to work towards- 9th March being the first one as a friends wedding
First Op of the year of £1.23 from interest in the joint account. £30 cash back for utility switch has confirmed so after the Quidco fee for the year I’ve requested a withdrawal to OP
This years target is going to be very tough as we have the two trips, a higher target, and less stuff to sell having got rid of loads last year already. Indeed the six items on eBay didn’t sell this week so will relist in the hope that they do.
Today’s plans are to get the house spick & span, read a chapter in my Australia lonely planet book and then a two hour yoga workshopFirst home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Sounds an exciting year ahead for you both.
Sometimes, when I relist on the bay on items that haven't sold for ages, I switch to a different main photo, and hey presto - it sells within days - got to say doesn't always happen, but has on quite a few occasions.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
Hooray! Holiday sounds amazing, and you have loads of time to look forward to it.
We may try and fit in Molly's Game next week, it certainly looked promising. And I have a soft spot for anything Idris Elba.0
