I would look at the overall cost of the stay before making that decision.
NO, I stay away a lot and would never pay for parking. The only time in a car park of a hotel is when a token is given.
It's respect for a customer that counts and Premier Inn is not that amazing0 -
Thanks I didn't know that they'd need permission to put things on their own land.
I did a search and it came up empty for them.
Oh yes - all the I-s need to be dotted and the Ts crossed if they want to make anything of it - and whilst it won't matter much to a shonky PPC/debt collector operation, they will rin into trouble at court if it turns out they are trying to levy charges based on loss in a free car park or avoiding VAT/taxes - which seem to be the main reasons behind not getting the appropriate permissions.
And the less they have, the less likely it is that they will try any meaningful action against you.0 -

I would disagree.
We recently stayed at Premier Inn one night and then the following night at another hotel nearby that was three times the price.
We wished we were back at the Premier Inn. The rooms were spotless, the bed was very comfortable and the staff amazingly helpful.
The more expensive hotel was grubby, the water lukewarm and we could hear all the noise from the kitchens the next morning.0 -

"rooms from £14.99"
a simple act of asking the customer to enter his VRN alongside his signature when arriving , and the system set to remember the number of days they are on site for , could work
you cannot get your key till you sign in
AH, the £14,99 catch .... advance bookings, never if you have just arrived in town or booked the day before as business people do.
It's like the 500,000 cheap easyjet flights with restrictions and add ons, read the T&C's etc .. .
Taking your VRN when arriving is no guarantee that the scammers won't ticket you and then all the problems thereafter, no thanks, I spend money in hotels who wants me to return0 -

What would be the best way to use this then, keep monitoring it online and if ever anything happens I have proof of when/if they get permission which would trump anything they do?0 -

There will always things like this, I had that once in a hotel and got a full refund ..... hope you did0 -

Thanks but I didn't ask you for your rudeness.
It's not all their car park and we use their restaurant a lot, which I won't and I am sure others won't if they start doing this.
Their only sign is near their own section and it says "free parking" No stipulations or anything. No planning permission for signs, so they'd be the ones breaking the law really wouldn't they.0 -
that was not rudeness , you have explained the situation , and got answers
when you are back in 3 mths with a post "urgent help premier inns fine" , I like others will now , leave you to stew
the law has been pointed out to you , you have been asked not to trespass
you have now make your bed so go and lie in it
goodnight!Save a Rachael

I do park elsewhere, I check the hotels first before I book.
There are 1000's of hotels with inclusive parking, free, with much better facilities than Premier Inn
I do not have to stay in a hotel that charges these extras just as much as I do not have to spend money in a supermarket who employs cowboys. I still manage to shop easily every day without
risking an overstay0
