The individual user does not break FB rules by liking/tagging/sharing etc only the promoter may if it was a requirement of entry.
Never been on the receiving end of a ban and never seen anything from FB that said sharing/tagging/liking competition posts etc has resulted in a ban there are just masses of assumptions that it has.
There are plenty of double standards with it as well where people who know what the rules allow still create stink if a winner has not done a required action even if it is against FB rules for the promoter to require it.
I have absolutely been on the receiving end of a ban and was shocked as I had no idea I had broken any rules. If you look back a whole bunch of us were banned from sharing a while back. Plus it is against the rules as per the links in this thread. Why do mice have such small balls?

You received a ban but you do not know what it was for and although a promoter may break rules if some things are made a requirement of entry it is not against FB rules for you to share comp posts/tag etc.
FB do not like "excessive" friend requests/likes/tags etc but it makes no difference if they are competition related or not.0 -
i usualy tell the page theyre nto allowed to ask to tag
as for why be the fb police its because i dont see why they should b allowed to ask for things to be done when its banned

Simply put its none of anybody elses business what an individual or company asks for on fb. You don't have to enter. it is very much like a teachers pet in a classroom telling tales on the other children. it's childish and those who report or complain really need to fill their lives with something more important. A personal opinion.August-September 2017: Lots of stuff

There should be an easy way to report companies on FB that break any of the rules - then FB should take action, as I have previously stated ... if a company can not abide by simple rules on a platform they advertise to the public - what else can they not abide by?
Rules are rules - if we didn't have rules then their would be civil war0 -

There is, you can report a page by clicking on the "..." which appears near the "Message box" and it brings up these optionsWhat's wrong with this Page?
This Place has duplicate or inaccurate info
I just don't like it
It's harassing me or someone I know
I don't think it should be on Facebook
It's a scam
I think it's an unauthorised use of my intellectual property0 -

It's against the rules, fair and square. It's not 'telling tales', those who enter in good faith could receive bans on sharing.
