Another question from me though: when do TSB pay cashback? I thought it would be on interest paying day but evidently not. I phoned them yesterday and the lovely Geordie chap said it would be "sometime" in the month after spending...
If you mean the contactless payments cashback then see this topic - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5394737

i have accounts with both too. i find that TSB service is consistently good, and that Nationwide service is consistently poor.

TSB is excellent. A couple of weeks ago I wanted to transfer over 60K from my current account to repay my mortgage with another bank. I had a settlement figure, valid for a specific day when the large credit was to be made to my TSB current account. I rang TSB a couple of days before to check whether the transfer would be OK to be told it would exceed the daily amount which can be transferred. They said the only option if I wanted the payment to be made in one day was a CHAPS transfer at a cost of £30 which I would have to initiate in branch. When I complained that my nearest TSB branch was a £10 train journey away they offered to credit my account with £40 to cover the train fare and CHAPS fee. Fair to say I was impressed and am left feeling very positive about TSB . . . Customer service doesn't need to cost the bank much but the effect on the customer can be worth far more.

Yep from memory it didn't accept my login, and I remember thinking this was weird but I was young and naïve so just thought it was being annoying for no malicious reason! Luckily NatWest refunded the whole £1,000 that was stolen (in two separate transactions), partly because they were able to prove that my attempted login was in London (where I work) rather than Cambridge (where I live) and so the virus was not on my computer, and partly because I had not given my login details to anyone else. Hence my scepticism over YNAB's bank account linking, incidentally.

    No idea I'm afraid.
