Surely the notice of correction will be removed along with the account to which it relates?
Also any apology is really due from HSBC not Equifax.

Well it hasn't been removed yet. And I think Equifax got it wrong as they put it as a default when experian and noddle had it down as a simple closed account. I assume they'd have all received the same information. Anyway as soon as the notice of dispute is removed all should be well!

I think you should refer the matter to the FOS.

As I'm still at a loss why? A "savings account" is being reported to the CRAs.

Equifax have a habit of updating you on the status of the dispute but not updating your report - what is the report date when you are checking and still seeing it there?

Just reply to the dispute saying something like "thank you for your message, this still shows as defaulted to me". They will then issue a generic "your credit report has been refreshed... please login to view it" and it should have that day's date on it. You will then (hopefully!) find the account has vanished and the notice of correction has gone too :)

Edit: IF it hasn't (even after checking report date is 13th Feb or whatever), keep replying to that original chain of emails in the dispute centre rather than starting fresh disputes - it'll be easier for whoever picks it up to see what should have happened and hopefully fix it.

I came out of bankruptcy 6 months ago so had to get defaults changed - some of the threads with Equifax in particular are very long with many back and forth emails before it was eventually fixed!

Thanks for this - yes it's still showing a notice of dispute as of today's date but they have deleted the account in question. I need them to delete this notice of dispute now! So I've kept replying to the same chain of questions hopefully they'll take notice soon! X

So after trying to get the notice of dispute taken off - today they have added the account they removed BACK to my report. I'm so bloody annoyed here. They ignore all my messages and there is no phone number.

Does anyone have a number for Equifax personal credit report that I can phone!! I'm getting nowhere fast!

    Thanks all

Try any 0800 (free) or geographic 01, 02 or 03 from here: http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php There were quite a few, just type in Equifax.

Thanks I found it and called. What a horrendous company. They have zero idea what I'm talking about and have passed my account to the correct department. I'm so angry right now.
