Looking forward to the march thread.Trying to keep in budget.

I *may* have made a £22 sale today on FB but the buyer wants to do bank transfer and I'm not sure if it's ok to give out my account details? Any thoughts?0

I personally wouldn't do it. But others with more experience may have some advice.
I wouldn't think you would be covered in a way that you are by accepting paypal. But I could be wrong.0 -

People can't do anything with just an account number and sort code except put money in your account, so I'd say you're fine. They don't even need the name of the bank the account is with.
(Even setting up direct debits requires your full name and address, as well as the address of the branch the account is associated with/was set up in... and they won't have access to all of that information)
ETA: if anything it's riskier for them since they won't have access to paypal buyer protection and you can flat-out refuse to refund for lost/damaged items and there's nothing they can do about it.Aqua 0/1850 Cap.One 0/450 Vanquis 0/500 HSBC 0/100

The only information you have to give for a bank transfer is the same as the information printed on the bottom of a personal cheque so I would think it is completely safe.Jan £10 a day £326.75/£3100

Thank you Lex, I thought someone with more knowledge would know better - plus I've learnt something new!!
Ok so my first month in and went over my target by £18.31!! It's not huge but I'm really chuffed I broke £100 to be honest.
Let's hope I do just as well, if not better in March0 -

Yeah, this. I sort of forgot information on cheques was a thing having never written one out in my life :rotfl: (no, really. I've never had a chequebook with my bank account)Aqua 0/1850 Cap.One 0/450 Vanquis 0/500 HSBC 0/100

Thanks everyone - I called Halif@x in the end as I have tons to sell and it's going to come up again and frankly I didn't want to lose £22 over imaginary worries. They told me that it was the same as writing a cheque. The things to NOT give out are long card number and the 3 digit security on the back...0

Two last little amounts rolling in, £1.03 from Qmee (trying to cash out at least £1 a month from this so pleased with that), and 87p from Amazon for eBook sales.
Finished this month on £66.54/£145 which I'm pretty happy with.

I did another casino trial today and won £36.60, so £26.60 after taking off my initial £10 deposit. Cashback will be £19 but I'll include that if / when it pays out. I also did a Textbroker article for £3.
I'm declaring on £541.41, v pleased with that. I'd love it if I can do a similar amount next month, hope I can keep up the energy.0
