I questioned it as you mentioned & when it was explained I requests it from my bank twice which they failed to send until recently. They did not state that if I don't send them that I will be accountable for the monies owed0

Albany are just a claims management company and a pretty awful one at that; just like any other claims management company you could pick yourself if you happen to know a decent one. They don't seem to be very good at anything except foistering over-priced hire cars on anyone who has the misfortune to be directed their way. It is shameful of Admiral that they haven't dumped Albany years ago.0

This is a very worrying thread for me to read. I am in a similar position of Albany now 'instructing solicitors' from a non fault accident in Feb 2015. Did you actually tell them that you wouldn't appear in court, and then change your mind a few weeks later?0

If you assist them and they actually lose the court case, they normally write the money off.
If you sign a contract agreeing to assist them and then not assist them, you're breaching the contract and they then look to you for the money if they lose the court case or abandon the case as they don't have enough evidence0 -
Hi all, just a thought I had. If Albany say that they are holding me responsible for the outstanding hire charges before the court case date, & if they have pulled the plug on the court appearance due to not wanting to pay the court bill & decide to pursue me instead with the thought that I have not co-operated by not being able to attend court for work purposes which the solicitor stated is ok as long as I return the statement, surely they will have to ask for my permission to withdraw the case from court as it is in my name vs the other driver. They say that they have removed the indemnity on the case due to not co-operating.0

I told them from over a month ago that I wouldn't be able to appear in court on the specific date & the solicitor asked me to return the court statement stating that the case is likely to not even reach court. the bank statement is likely to be with me tomorrow which I was going to submit at court but they are saying that the indemnity has been removed due to lack of co-operation. What is your situation at the moment?0
