Lovely yield from the wedding fair evilsquid, the Aveda box sounds interesting too, but I must resist until I have a few less products in the haircare stash:(

I have very sensitive skin so when I first used Pixie Glow (and similar products) and the Liquid Gold I started with a lightly damp cotton pad and applied the product to that for a few applications to get my skin used to it, worked well and always phase new things in gradually, not straight into the twice daily (or whatever recommended routine) now and have very few reactions these days. For the sake of economy and pure laziness:o, I only use the Pixi or First Aid Beauty pads once a day and my skin is great, might try more often to see if it would be even better:D

Hi maddiemay hope you are feeling better. I would love to try a First Aid Beauty cleanser. Have you tried any?

I have been waiting for delivery of 1 more item before posting my purchases, but it is taking a while and I might forget so here are my INs.

    2 x 65ml Boots Botanics cleansing balm* 2 & 3/10
140ml Eucerin Aquaphor cream 4/11 these * items on 3 for 2 at Boots 4/11
15ml NIOD Multi Molecular Hyaluronic Complex 5/12
15ml NIOD Copper Amino Isolate Serum 1% 6/13

I spent ages resisting spending out on 200ml Emma Hardie Moringa Balm, great deal with 20% off, but still £44, so have economised and got the Botanics balm, not as luxurious, but suits my skin and does the job. The NIOD was a good deal from Q**, when they start to market a new product to them the prices are ace, but when the brands get established the great deals disappear (e.g. Emma Hardie and Merumaya), so if I love something it can be worth buying and adding to the stash.

I'm sure I've seen some good reviews on the Botanics balm this week but can't remember where.

Have tidied the bathroom and earmarked a few products that I think will be UUed by the end of Feb :-

Vichy eye cream. Container feeling quite light.
PCMC tube. Depotted and probably about 3-4 days worth left.
Johnsons face cream. Now scraping product from rim of jar.
Bare Minerals Prime Time primer. Tube cut open.
2 X wind up eyeliners- Smashbox and Laura Geller. Smashbox one won't wind any more. LG keeps breaking.
Marc Jacobs Honey perfume. Few sprays left.

Snap, I have ordered a bottle of Pixi Glow today. Emma's skin is really bad at the moment so I have ordered her a Murad 30 day kit from Amazon. Had a gift card towards the price. Anyway the kit didn't contain toner and as I had a couple of gift cards for M&S and there is the 20% discount today I ordered the Murad toner for her and Puxi Glow for me as I loved the Mario Bedescu glycolic one that I recently UU. Was good - only had to pay £2.80 towards the order. Will UU the Liz Earle toner before starting this but using the glycolic one last week has made me realise the IBST was doing nothing for me.

Val - The guru of a few of us here, Caroline Hirons, recommends using the acid toners then following with a spritz of a hydrating toner, to maximise hydration. I am using either IBST or Darphin Intral, but also found BS Aloe very good, so you may want to hold back on finishing your IBST and try her system. The two types of toner do different, but complimentary jobs IYSWIM:) Neither type are like the old fashioned "pore closing" toners.

    Two TA.

Maybelline Lipstick in Gingerbread. Nice colour but the smell made me nauseous as it was very sweet.
Mua Lip Laquer in Kooky that my sis gave me (too dry). I have a back up of this. i'm going to be careful with the Superdrug/Boots 3 for 2's. I'd rather buy three different products(foundation, eyeliner, lipstick) rather than 3 lipsticks of the same brand in different colours (thinking it could save me money in the long run).

It felt good getting rid of two things. I have enough lip products to UU. If a Lipstick becomes detached from its tube does it mean its gone bad (dried out)? Not sure on this one.

VAL - I am on the mend thanks, seeing gp this week about aches and pains, but it's an age thing, so try to make the best of it:D Found some great GF baking recipes so at last am getting to eat some real tasting food, more carbs giving me more energy, so that's good.

Not tried a First Aid Beauty cleanser, just the peel pads and the Ultra repair cream, when I have finished my gallons of cleansers I will try theirs out, the products in general get a lot of good reviews.

Caroline Hirons posted on the Botanics balm, it reminded me of it. I have used it in the past as one of "my safe products" that I can use when the sensitivities/dermatitis take hold. I also though it was a good size and a nice sturdy pot for taking away on our travels in the caravan in May, 3-4 weeks will need thought, as space will be at a premium too.:)

Nice list of potential UUs there, mine are going slowly, but will keep plodding, need reminders to use more hand cream and cuticle oil though, they sit in a make up bag alongside my chair and I still forget to use them - hopeless case:rotfl:

My teenager used up all of my bubble bath (enough for about 10 baths!) in one go....... so I go to Asda to buy some more.... and I felt like i was buying illegal drugs! lol - apart from that the using up campaign is going well, I am shocked how many things I have 'found'.
Debt free May 2016 (without the support of MSE forum users that would never have been possible - thank you all)
  • One UU to report:

Lila grace berry frost body lotion 65ml- WBA these are a handy size and do the job ok, bit watery but fine. This smelled like berries mixed with baby powder to me which I did like.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend, currently partaking in a little tipple which is quite up like me drinking on a Sunday night.

    UU's

    46) future primitive whipped soap in entice WBA love the whipped soaps and would buy again but in a different scent.

    47) snowcake soap WBA still my favourite lush soap and as normal have plenty left to use.

    48) nature republic first sheet mask WMBA nice enough.

    49) batiste dry shampoo WBA

    50) sure invisible Aqua WNBA last ages but not strong enough for me and I did not smell very pleasant by the end of the day.

    51) Lord of Misrule bath ballistic WBA love the scent and colour of the water.

    52) merry Christmas massage bar WBA but only if they were new. I loved this one when it was fresh but the scent has faded.

    53) outrigger hotel conditioner 30 ml WNBA not good but small container so easy to use up.

    54) mediheal sheet mask on dress code blue WBA lovely fit, saturated in essence and had a beautiful mask design printed on which normally I don't like but it was so pretty. It left my skin hydrated. I really enjoy sheet masks not only for what they do for my skin but for how relaxing I find them.

    TA
Murad. Exfoliating blemish treatment WBA far too Stripping my skin. Have about 20% left and had it years so time to go.

    Not TA yet
Liquid gold - loved it when I first bought it but nearly 2 years down the line I find it quite harsh to use, I was supposed to use it as as toner but keep forgetting even though it is on my bedside table. Must try harder as I hate to throw things if I don't have to.

I have has a bit of a sort out and am quite happy at how little skincare products I have compared to a year ago I think I have shed about 60 % of the products and have not restocked like I used to. I do seem to have an issue with ordering sheet masks, I have cancelled one order tonight after part the order was out of stock but do have another order in the post but it will probably arrive in March. They also account for at least 15 UUs a month and I seem to supply my sister with all she wants. Current tally is 109 sheet mask which I know is a lot but I like to have choice and use them up fairly quickly. I am currently quite tame in what I am ordering and am trying to reduce what I have which I still find hard.

    UU

Boots Natural Collection Wild Strawberry Body Lotion 200ml - I'm pleased to use this up as bigger containers take up more space in my stash - I'd also had this for two years. I think this was a nice lotion and I would probably purchase it again.

Also have to confess to some purchases eep - my local Tesco were selling Dove and Garnier body oils for £2.25 and £2 respectively when usually they are at least £8. I bought two of the Dove and one Garnier. There were also 400ml Dove body lotions for £1.40 each so I got a couple of those plus a Simple Micellar Water reduced to £2 (my current Micellar Water is running so at least this is something I need).
