No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries February 2016

Apparently there are pluses to having a stash...
SIL called and asked if hubby (known as the cool uncle), and cousins could help chaperon nieces birthday party, suddenly realizing 50 plus 14 year old is a lot, no matter how well behaved.
I had planned to see niece later in the week so hadn't got her present yet, but was able to put something together in 20 minutes out of some of my sealed make up I have along with some re-gifted chocolates and a book on fashion and make up. I chose colours that would complement her and go together and niece seemed very happy for it all.

Sally Hansen moisture twist 2-in-1 lipgloss 'peach smoothie'

Hello everyone!
I went to a wedding fair yesterday and got a beauty goodie bag so ins of dove shampoo and conditioner, mini pixi glow tonic and alpha h liquid gold. Excited to try these two as they've been on my radar for a while and I know Caroline hirons raves about them so we shall see if they are worth it!
Also bought the British beauty blogger aveda box for fine hair so I'll have ins during the week. I got the invati one and it's such a good deal, £20 and worth well over £90 with three full sizes! OH is trying the curly hair box as well. its on latest in beauty if anyone hasn't seen it yet.0 -

Lovely yield from the wedding fair evilsquid, the Aveda box sounds interesting too, but I must resist until I have a few less products in the haircare stash:(
I have very sensitive skin so when I first used Pixie Glow (and similar products) and the Liquid Gold I started with a lightly damp cotton pad and applied the product to that for a few applications to get my skin used to it, worked well and always phase new things in gradually, not straight into the twice daily (or whatever recommended routine) now and have very few reactions these days. For the sake of economy and pure laziness:o, I only use the Pixi or First Aid Beauty pads once a day and my skin is great, might try more often to see if it would be even better:DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. I have been waiting for delivery of 1 more item before posting my purchases, but it is taking a while and I might forget so here are my INs.
2 x 65ml Boots Botanics cleansing balm* 2 & 3/10
140ml Eucerin Aquaphor cream 4/11 these * items on 3 for 2 at Boots 4/11
15ml NIOD Multi Molecular Hyaluronic Complex 5/12
15ml NIOD Copper Amino Isolate Serum 1% 6/13
I spent ages resisting spending out on 200ml Emma Hardie Moringa Balm, great deal with 20% off, but still £44, so have economised and got the Botanics balm, not as luxurious, but suits my skin and does the job. The NIOD was a good deal from Q**, when they start to market a new product to them the prices are ace, but when the brands get established the great deals disappear (e.g. Emma Hardie and Merumaya), so if I love something it can be worth buying and adding to the stash. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Ugggh my UU's have been so sloooooow this month! Got a couple of items spluttering though, so hopefully will have a couple to declare in the next few days...
Whilst tidying up I found an envelope from Charlotte Tilbury with 2 samples that I need to declare. I got them ages ago!
So: IN
CT Magic Eye Rescue eye cream 1ml sample
CT Magic Night Cream 1.5ml sample
Painted my nails yesterday morning in Cuccio Tuscan Temptress. A nice soft baby pink/ blushed nude shade. Has to come off tonight though ready for tomorrow and back to work
Have a week off work starting on Friday 26th (my birthday), so will be able to paint my nails and enjoy my polish collection a bit more. I do like this Cuccio formula though, I haven't put a top coat on as there's no point, and it hasn't chipped which is unusual for a polish on my nails!
Also I second Daisy on Nails Inc on Porchester Square. I absolutely love that shade. It's gorgeous on my nails.0 -

I passionately hated Liquid Gold, I used it twice a week at night and despite using sunscreen and not sunbathing (just normal time outdoors) I got brown pigmentation marks on my forehead. It took over a year of using Clinque Smart Serum to get rid of them, also I noticed nothing good happening to my skin from using the liquid gold.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Oh Dolly that is grim, pleased that you eventually managed to sort it though. I haven't used it for a while as the acid toning seemed to be enough, but as I still have a part large bottle and a small bottle I had better get on and use it before we get sunshine (hopefully:D)The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Thanks hedgesparrow! I am quite lucky that I had several things in stash that all compliment each other colour wise, peaches and corals etc. Also, they suit nieces skin tone and age and hopefully she will be able to try out more natural looks. DD19 was present at the party and commented with eyerolls 'mum, she wears all the wrong colours, blue eye shadow with blue eyes and brown lipstick - ugh!' She seems to have conveniently forgotten her own make up experiments at that age!No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!0 -

Snap, I have ordered a bottle of Pixi Glow today. Emma's skin is really bad at the moment so I have ordered her a Murad 30 day kit from Amazon. Had a gift card towards the price. Anyway the kit didn't contain toner and as I had a couple of gift cards for M&S and there is the 20% discount today I ordered the Murad toner for her and Puxi Glow for me as I loved the Mario Bedescu glycolic one that I recently UU. Was good - only had to pay £2.80 towards the order. Will UU the Liz Earle toner before starting this but using the glycolic one last week has made me realise the IBST was doing nothing for me.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
