Her home insurance might include Legal Cover, if not. Check that, it can be very general cover.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Can I take you back to the points made and questions asked in post #42 above which appear to have been overlooked?
Additionally:
1. Has your sister spoken to any local solicitors to establish whether any of them are prepared to take the case on a NWNF basis?
2. Has she visited/spoken to CAB?
3. Has she put any of this on paper to the council and is their offer in writing?
4. Which department at the Council are dealing with this?
5. I note the "Council Aware" sticker on the windscreen was this ever accompanied by a 7-day notice?
6. Why was the sticker on the windscreen?
7. What are the Council saying was their reason (albeit mistaken) for removing the vehicle?
Have you actually posted on PePiPoo yet where there is far more expertise available to you?
With respect and whilst I accept that your sister is a busy single Mum there doesn't appear to have been any progress in the last 4 days.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -

1) No, we haven't actually spoken to a NWNF Solicitor. The ones we found and spoke to were all personal injury lawyers.
2) We haven't spoken to CAB. Should we?
3) It is all actually on email to the Council and there's an official internal investigation going on. The initial offer of settlement was received in writing yesterday.
4) It's currently with the Insurance department. However, there's also an overarching coporate investigation into how this actually happened. Their process document looks quite rigid but they didn't seem to follow their 7 day notice period.
5) As above, no. The picture you see is the picture provided by the council. No further sticker, nothing else. Just simply that the Council were aware the vehicle exists???
6) I have no clue why it was on the windscreen. I presume to make sure we saw it. Where should it be?
7) They've never actually told us why. However I have pressed them for an explanation on a number of occasions.
Does anyone know of a good NWNF solicitor? We would be happy to engage with one. It's into the second weekend now. Last week, my sister didn't spend money on hiring a vehicle because we hoped the matter would be settled this week. It hasn't. We will probably be hiring a vehicle shortly, another weekly household shop pends. Would it be a valid claim to include this as the expense and conseqence of disposal?
I've tried to register on PePiPoo twice now, different emails. Nothing. No registration email. I've emailed the admin too, no response.0 -
Mitigate losses and pay for shopping to be delivered...no need for a car to be hired...should she be still driving?betterthanyours wrote: »1) No, we haven't actually spoken to a NWNF Solicitor. The ones we found and spoke to were all personal injury lawyers.

Yes, a hire car would be a valid claim.
You do have to make sure the hire car is a necessity - and that using taxis etc was not viable.
The obvious question that may be asked is why you didn't get one a week ago, as presumably now she is nearer her confinement and driving will be difficult/impossible??0 -

You should talk to the CAB for advice.
Make contact with your local MP

You need to tell the council that as they are taking too long, you need to hire a car. You need their permission in writing/email before you go ahead.
If I recall the council is Tower Hamlets ?
PePiPoo seems to be having problems with their web site0 -

WHY ???? The stupid council created the problem, it is now up to them to placate the owner and resolve the problem, if that means car hire then so be it.
A car is not just for shopping0 -

And how long do you think it will take to find someone in the Council prepared/authorised to give "permission"?They cannot get a hire car until authorised by the council, that would be foolhardy and not advised
There is no need for "permission" - but as already advised the hirer needs to be able to justify the need for a car (and has managed more than a whole week without one!)0
