Spent just over £3 on tuesday (it was over £6 in total but split with the boy), only put a couple of extra things in the basket so not too bad.
NSD Weds as didn't leave the house due to evil weather. Managed to finish my bookclub book - I've not read a book that quick in years!
Went to cinema with friends last night - £12.03 in total including sweets for me, a drink and sweets to bring the boy. So not too bad and an absolute laugh out loud film - how to be single.
Was bad though and didn't run yesterday.
Doing this weeks big shop at lunchtime. Hoping not more than £50 each. Then have lunch with a friend have not seen in ages, so hopefully no more than £15.
This pm am going to research and order a mattress topper and wash and dry all our bedding so it's nice and clean tonight. Will also clean kitchen and lounge and read some of my next book.
Happy friday peeps!I want to be a writer0 -
Hello! Happy Friday!
Huge well done on the 12 mile run and then the 3.6 miles soon after, you're doing really well! Have you got another long one planned for this weekend?
Well done on getting the book idea together, that is a big step in itself, I think it will be good and hope you get good feedback, how useful to have that friend who can help you!
I really want to see that film! Glad it's good, Iwill try and make the effort to go!
Have a great weekend, nice weather for some running it looks like!

Big shop was £138!!!! So well over budget. It's because the boy puts £5 bags of nuts and cereal and things he needs like razors etc in without my having budgeted for them or my noticing. But given we split everything I feel like I can't really ask that he budgets down and doesn't have them!
Had a lovely lunch with my friend friday and it was £14 so under budget - just! It was so nice to catch up though am worried about her as her year long relationship has serious issues which I hadn't realised as not seen her on her own for ages. Just goes to show, people only post what they want you to see on FB and it is not reality! Gave her some advice and support and just hope it works out for her.
Saturday we went to see a late afternoon film (london has fallen - predictable but watchable and had Gerard Butler in - you'd not kick him out of bed for eating cheese and onion crisps!) then had an early bird dinner out. Was 2 courses for £10 (and great food!) so with drinks (non-alcoholic obv) and tip it was £14 each so not too bad.
Yesterday did 14 miles - boy was that hard! Then went up to boy's mums for a couple of hours. Then a very early night.
Tonight is lunch and dinner from stores and should be a cheap week fingers crossed as boy is out weds and fri nights and I am just going to stay in!
Need to work on book this week for sure!!!I want to be a writer0 -

ha ha! took me 2 hours 48 though so slow as a snail!
but, I will be glad just to "get round" in 6 weeks' time!I want to be a writer0 -
went for a run yesterday and did 4.25miles in 45 mins so pretty pleased with that. Has largely been a no spend week - though had to buy compeed today (£4.39) and then some milk and raisins.
Got to run tonight too as we are switching our long runs to saturdays. So tonight i have to run for an hour - supposed to be part tempo running but think i may just do a flat hour run.
then no more until saturday thank god, though then have to do 16 miles!!!
Probably won't spend anything tomorrow as making us a butternut squash risotto then from stores.
Boy is out tonight for a work dinner so after my run i am going to shower etc then have some filled pasta from stores for tea and probably watch a film.
Have lunch with a mate friday so hopefully not more than £15. Boy is out with his mates friday night (poor mite will be drinking coke as we want to be out running by 730am sat!) but I am staying in so no spends!!!I want to be a writer0 -
hmmm, so didn't manage my run weds night as wasn't really feeling it. Got up at 6am yesterday and went but my legs decided they didn't want to go so only managed about 27 minutes of running!
Part of the problem has been an awful blister I've been getting. To try to stop that, have been wearing an extra sock but that has resulted in my toes being cramped in my shoe and hurting. So went back to the sports shop yesterday fully expecting to have to cough up somewhere in the region of £100 for a new pair of shoes. He has suggested trying new insoles which he has fitted and they were £21 but he gave me a discount so only £18.90. Hoping they work but suspect they won't. Guess I will find out on my 16 miler tomorrow morning!
Made a carrot cake weds afternoon and the boy took some into work, apparently it went down a storm with one of his colleagues saying it was the best carrot cake he'd ever tasted! So pleased with that. Last night made butternut squash risotto which was divine! The boy hadn't been keen as it was a veggie dish but he absolutely loved it so will make that again. Plus it's not that expensive to make.
Today we are doing our "big shop" at lunch. Given the last 2 weeks am budgeting £65 each and hoping that's enough. Have lunch with my friend today, budgeting £15.
Boy is out tonight and I am going to stay in and watch "the duff" and do my fake tan as we are "away" tomorrow night. His mum bought us a night, dinner and breakfast in a local hotel so we are using that tomorrow. Means we can also use the pool and jacuzzi and then play on the driving range sunday. Should be a nice treat, especially after our 16 mile run!!
This afternoon am planning to make a chocolate, guinness and tia maria cake! I have had a few baking disasters recently (which is unusual for me) so want to get my confidence back by trying a few new cakes!
Happy friday peeps!I want to be a writer0 -
Sorry to hear about the blister, sounds sore. Really hope the insoles help you tomorrow on your long run. Good luck! Let us know how you get on! xSantander 0% £1,529.94

So, did my 16 miler. 3:19:28 so very slow but did it. Was supposed to run 50 mins yesterday but just too tired so got to do that this morning. Then we are canning our runs and are going to do an 18 miler good friday to get it out of the way so we can enjoy easter. Possibly not ideal marathon prep as not fully following my plan but hoping I'll get round (know the boy will as he's done one before and a 20 miler).
Our big shop was just under £65 each so not too bad. And was only that much as couldn't get a small bottle of tia maria for the cake (cake came out amazing!!). Lunch with friend was £20 so slightly over budget.
The weekend "away" was much needed as we used the jacuzzi and it really helped the old legs. Spent about £33 each as they boy went off set menu and we had a few drinks.
Sunday was very quiet, just went to the boy's mums for a bit then watched 4 episodes of series 2 of line of duty! Finished it off last night - soooooo good!
Yesterday did a big fat nothing though made slow cooker lemon chicken which was lush. Today gotta run plus make a lamb, butternut, tamarind and prune tagine, and get milk. Might try and work on my book today.
Really hating running at the moment and can't wait until this marathon is over! Though might be signing up for a half marathon mid-june as sort of feel now I've got this far, I ought to keep up my running!I want to be a writer0 -
Sorry been MIA.
So, we did our 18 miles on Good Friday morning. Almost killed me. Got to run 50 mins today though cannot be bothered and then last mega run sunday before the marathon - 20 miles - arghhhhh!!!
Just re-read the whole of my last diary - cannot believe how stressed and upset I was all the time. I only have 7 weeks left of not working but thank god I left!!!!!I want to be a writer0
