Just downloaded the app and registered with no problem. Now just need to win a fitness watch! Otherwise anyone have any thoughts about the best app to use with an android phone?
    Trial
Trying different methods of decluttering..... Random at present but not very organised.
  • I have installed the app on my Galaxy S6 (Android 5.1.1) and have a constant message on my pull down menu saying "Bounts - location based messaging and rewards".

Anyone else have this and know how to turn it off? I know how to force block/hide these messages via the system menu but prefer to turn them off via the app itself and find out what they are doing first.
  • Hi,
Join bounts today. I’m earning points when I exercise and getting great rewards from the high street and brands.
    Its free to join
Enter my referral code bradley5536 when you sign up.
It means we both get 100 points when you do your first activity.
    Regards

Hi Clare...welcome to the thread.........if you look on the referrals board...there is a special thread for referral codes which will probably get more responces.

Everything up and running with mine now.

Went out for breakfast with a friend who picked me up but I said I would walk home and managed 5500 steps so a short walk with the dog should see me reach the minimum 7000 to get points.

This is just what I need as it will motivate me to do more walking and keep my gym attendances up.

Not been to the gym with it yet so not sure how that creates points. My gym is on the map thing so Im guessing it detects where you are from your phone? Will report back.

Could be something to do with the actual phone settings rather than what the app does. I'm not sure exactly how the S6 works but I had the S3 and when I had app messages pop up or buzz or ring at me with some apps it used to irritate me to.

I used to be able to turn off if the app messaged me by going to the data use and then scrolling down to the app in question and turning off certain features working on Wifi but it might mean the app doesn't work at all.
Another way was to go to the app manager and set if it sent me notifications or not or if I was buzzed if there was a notification.

Other than this you could see if there were any settings in the actual app rather than on the phone handset and you'd be looking for the "settings" menu or cog-wheel icon to mess with these.

Having said this, I lost count of the times I'd turn off notifications on some apps (one for example was Candy Crush which I now wont use for this reason) and it used to ping at me all day despite turning off it's access to work by turning off the notifications tick and asking it to not send me any notifications. Despite having done and redone this several times over, the app would re-set it's settings, update itself when not on wifi when I'd selected it only download updates in wifi and still send me messages. I've no idea why it did this and how it did this- no other app would do this. It wasn't as a result of the phone being restarted or any other updates being done and I rarely used wifi so decided to solve this by deleting the app.

I suppose you really have to weigh up what matters to you more; being able to use the app or being able to stop being pinged at for pointless reasons. Having said that, I've not had that happen with any other apps than the Candy Crush group apps.
  • At the moment it is much better to use the MSE code than a personal referral - 600 more points!

I was getting a bit lazy with my Misfit Shine so hoping this will be good encouragement. :j

I don't want to appear too stupid but do you have to be connected to the internet while you are walking/exercising for the Bunts and any apps to work?
  • Not sure how a phone fitness app would work but I know my fitbt syncs with my phone when I get in close proximity to it.

Hopefully someone who uses a phone app will be able to answer your question.

I've had success with both moves (for counting steps) and runkeeper (for my walk to and from work). They've both managed to work as intended and link up with bounts.

If anyone does work out how to turn off the bounts notification from within the app I'd be grateful as well, it's annoying seeing it there!

I installed yesterday and added the move app for my galaxy s5. Seems to work and my points from yesterday were added. I walk around 20,000 steps a day at work and also go for runs a couple of times a week so was a bit disappointed to see on 7000 steps counts. Still got strava linked too and with my bonus points from mse code I can already get a £1 tesco voucher :)

I think it will take quite some time to build a decent amount of points up but seems quite fun so far. Also can't get rid of the bounts notification either!
