Thoughts on Bounts (Get paid for walking)

Just signed up this morning and I've ordered a Fitbit Charge HR which should be delivered this afternoon. Hopefully in time for afternoon dog walkies!
I've synced MMF and MFP plus I didn't realise until just now that I've been tracking activity and steps etc daily on the Health app on my iPhone. Interestingly I've been exceeding 10,000 steps most days without even realising it :rotfl:
Wondering whether it would be worth paying for the upgraded version? I seem to have been allocated 210 points and 14 credits already, just for signing up and syncing apps.0 -
Good luck with your fit bit Feral.

Thanks, and yes, it is lol coupled with the fact I'm rather competitive, so I'm already finding I'm moving more just to reach certain little targets I've set for myself :rotf:0 -
I signed up last week and absolutely love it. I paid the £14.99 to upgrade to Premium+ which seemed a no brainer. I earn 4x the number of points and am able to record 3x the number of activities. Based on me doing 3x 20 mins walking a day, check in for swim a couple of times a week and my normal 10-14k steps a day I'll earn at least £100 per year (£85) after the fee. That's without the 100 of referrals, extra pts from the reward wheel etc.
Everything synced easily for me, my Fitbit Charge HR tracks the steps (but plenty of free apps like Move do it), mapmyfitness tracks the activity and my gym automatically logged my visit when I went in. Note you need different trackers to log steps and activity. I had to do some searching to find that out.
The only thing I'm not sure of is how to access the reward wheel with the additional sectors to win experiences etc. I read that you need to do three activities in one day to access it. Yesterday I did 2 x 20 min walks and 12k steps but just got the standard wheel. Can anyone help with this?
All in all I feel more motivated to exercise and the money (however much it is) is a great bonus.0 -
I didnt know about the winning of experiences on the wheel thing? Where can I find info about this?
I guess you didnt access it as you did 2 activities and not three. Your reaching 7000+ steps will be counted as just that.....steps.
I agree about it being a no brainer signing up for the premium+ though I cant get my husband who would probably earn more points than me to see that. He cant get beyond the paying £15 up front.
I might even pay it for him as it would be great having two lots of vouchers coming in.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
I do at least two 2.5 mile walks per day which gives me my 10,000 steps. During those walks I use MapMyFitness (the dog walk one) to monitor activity/distance and my Fitbit counts steps etc but also the Health app on my phone is counting steps.
All three are reporting back to Bounts, so when I'm out walking are the steps and activity being classed as two separate reports per walk? Or do I have to reach 7,000 steps before I can then use further walks as activity? If that makes sense lol
Today will be the first day I'll be using it all properly to monitor exactly what is being registered by Bounts as it appears to have picked up on some historical reports from a few days ago and not counted everything I did yesterday.0 -
I would say you get points for reaching 7000 steps and two lots of points for your two activity walks.
Be interesting to see if you get more. Keep us posted.:D
Edited to add.....you get more points on reaching 14000 steps on the premium upgrade (which I have managed a couple of times) and even more for 21000 steps which for me will be be rarely achievable.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
I seem to be on the Premium upgrade as a two week trial, so that will motivate me to aim for 14,000 steps a day! :T
My Bounts app seems to have caught up with everything now. I figured out you need to refresh it whilst MapMyFitness app is open so that has now registered 10pts for each of the walks I did yesterday and this morning. Fitbit has also registered 10pt for reaching 7000 steps, as has the Health app, so that's double points!
So, now to wait and see whether it registers my walks later this afternoon and evening as extra activities. I think I'll definitely be signing up for Premium at the end of the trial. Not sure I do enough at the moment to warrant the Premium+ as I'm not currently using a gym and it won't register home workouts.0 -
I have installed the app twice now And it doesn't record accurately my activity.
I used the Health apple app as I couldn't afford one of the fitness gadgets .
For instance I go to the gym twice a day as I am training for a competition . It doesn't record/log me in - it is a Puregym
I emailed them but no reply whatsoever ...
Shame because I am very acttive and it would have neen good to make use of that ...:o0 -
I'm really struggling to get the venue check in to work too. I've done everything it says but it still doesn't do it. My gym shows on the map for premium members - and I am premium at the moment after connecting my first app.
Are other people managing venue check-ins ok? Any advice?0
