Enjoy your snow day! And isn't it nice to get a few extra jobs done, just some of the time2023: the year I get to buy a car0
-
Well I don’t feel I have got that much done today.
Walking the dogs even a little way was hard going.
However I did do the travel expenses and did a cheeky little £111 OP from one of the travel expenses
Sorted out some clothes (mine and the dogs) to work out what needed to be repaired and ordered a few bits like Velcro off the bay.
Hubby ventured out to do the horses and got as far as the village by the field, so had a mile to walk to get to them. They are all fine and had plenty of extra hay. Good job we stocked up earlier in the week when we heard the bad weather was coming in.
Still plenty to do here so I won’t get bored unlike both DDs who are moaning that they are bored!0 -
I am sat in bed with a cup of tea trying to work out which tasks to try and achieve today.
The roads are still pretty bad, although the snow plough did go through the village last night. It is now raining so hopefully things will be going back to normal soon.
I started the filing yesterday, so will get that finished then aim to clear some long standing tasks which have been languishing on my list for a while.0 -
We havent had a huge amount of snow but it is still snowing on and off here.
At least being stuck in can lead to productivity. Have to say I am more than ready for Spring and the motivation I get from sunny days.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
I was more than ready for Spring before the snow came CathT! It’s been a very wet winter this year.
Yesterday was quite productive. One of the things that I’ve been intending to do for a while was to apply for a reward cc. I already had a short list worked out already, so after a quick comparison I’ve applied for the nectar one. This is to use for the food shopping mainly and to pay off in full each month. I’m hoping this will improve my credit score even further.
My clear score credit rating has at last gone back up again after going through the house buying process. Even though we did everything for the electoral roll when we moved in last May it has only just registered on there that I am on the electoral roll here, which seemed to be the thing that pushed it back to where it used to be. Seems quite a long time to catch up, not that it really mattered I suppose.0 -
Morning ETE - we use a couple of reward CCs, a B@rclaycard cash back and an M&S ( pays in vouchers ). I always try and get double cash back by trying to buy anything through Topcashback and then using my cash back credit card.
If you want to boost your Nectar points further try Nectar Canvass- you do surveys for extra points.
Hope the weather improves where you are, snowing again here this morning.0 -
Thank you BusyMee, I hadn’t looked at the Barclaycard one but the M&S one was a very close contender!
That’s s good tip about going through TCB and paying with the cc, I will need to remember that.
There’s an introductory bonus with the nectar one, so many bonus points every time you spend over £40 in Sains for the first 2 months, so it will be interesting trying to maximise that!0 -
I must get onto a cashback site again, but there really isn't that much I'm going to buy, except a pair of walking shoes and maybe a fleece .... trying to do minimal spending until the state pension kicks in, and thats 3.5 years :eek:2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I find that I do not make much money from TCB, as you say KC, that’s the downside of not buying much! However I do try and use it whenever I do buy something. After all even a couple of pound a year is better in my pocket than in theirs.
I’ve battled for a while trying to find some useful information on delaying the start date for the planning permission for the extension and failed miserably. In the end I have sent an email and hopefully someone may be able to point me in the right direction.0 -
Busy week, followed by a busy weekend. What a complete contrast to last weekend where we were snowed in and I was pottering around the house!
Today I will be planning the food to take with me on our doggie road trip tomorrow so I don’t end up paying extortionate prices when I’m there. It is the first time I will be doing a big one on my own, so I hope I don’t forget where I park the car.
Also today will mainly consist of dog walking, mucking out and ironing. There’s also a new recipe I want to try tonight.
DD2 was complaining there’s no food in the house (there is really!) anyhow I should really book a food shop. I might do it tomorrow at the event if I get chance as there is free WiFi. Hopefully it will work out better for my pocket if I book a food shop rather than wander around all the tempting stalls they have0
