Thank you KC & Watty, I'm still amazed at the achievements over the last year. It's great to see it written down and yes it really is life changing. I appreciate some of this is down to luck, but also a lot of hard work too.
Although I've only had a diary on here for a year, I have lurked for a terribly long time and been laying the foundations for years!
I'm still very poorly, ended up going to the docs as I can't hear! So now on antibiotics and told to rest. Normally I find resting very difficult, so I must be ill as I'm ok resting at the moment!! Poor hubby is tearing around trying to finish the decorating - I do hope he doesn't catch my bug.
I'm starting to feel a little anxious about everything that is falling behind, but I do have about £150 left over in my account and no more spends should be needed now until payday. I'm very pleased with that.0 -
You have done SO much. Is it your boy who qualified? He is GORGEOUS.0

Thank you SHS, yes it is my lovely boy that you met, he will be strutting his stuff and singing to the girls - such a charmer0

Well all except tidying up and putting things away we are ready!
EA is instructed and will be round Monday to measure and take details.
I'm trying to take it easy as still fighting germs, but managing to do the work thing (just very little else!), it does help to keep money coming in.0 -

Thank you mfd
Well I have made it to the weekend!
Not sure why I'm awake so early though, typical.
I'm still not 100% so need to not tear around this weekend, but do need to get everything tidy for EA photos on Monday plus do some business accounts admin.
Booked a viewing on a house Tuesday, I think it may be a bit small but it does have pp for an extension. The house I liked the look of most has been taken off the market now as it is being rented out so I'm a bit sad about missing that one.
Money wise I'm hoping for a quiet month, though I do need to sort out horse feed and a meal plan for us at some point.
DD2 had paid back some money she owed and a £40 cheque refund received from solicitors from field purchase - not quite sure why but I'm not going to say no! Just need to remember to get it paid in - is it just me or do cheques feel antiquated nowadays?
Best news of the week, the deeds have turned up for the field.
Have a good weekend everyone.0 -
Cheques seem such a slow way of doing things yes! Excited about viewing.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Quite pleased with my progress yesterday despite having rubbish germs.
All ironing done (massive mountain as haven't done any for a couple weeks), two washes on, sweet potato & chorizo soup in the slow cooker for next week lunches, November business accounts 90% complete and a very frugal turkey and gammon pie for dinner made with all left over meat. Clearing some room in the freezer!
I had a quick look online at the planning permission that had been approved for the house we are viewing on Tuesday and also researched the village a bit.
Today a bit more tidying and hopefully I will be up to going to see the new field for a bit. There is a lot of work to do up there so we will be cracking on with that whilst waiting for our house to sell. Meal plan and shopping should also feature at some point!
DD1 & DGS will be coming round for a roast this evening too, the chicken is already out and defrosting.
I think I need to start a list of all the places I need to contact for address change too, so it is one less thing to do later.0 -
Sweet potato and chorizo soup sounds wonderful. Was it made up? Or does a recipe for such a soup exisit? (I can't cook without direction

It's my favourite at the moment, I just put two carrots, two large sweet potatoes (all chopped up) and a pack of chorizo slices in the slow cooker with enough veg stock to completely cover. Cooked until soft then whizzed with my stick blender. Super easy and I have 9 portions (2.5 soup ladles a portion). Should keep me going a while! I do have some parsnip to make into soup to swap it around a bit, but have a feeling I might run out of energy today now.
I've been tidying bits away today, everything is very nearly in its rightful place.
We went up the field and walked the perimeter, had a few plans about what to do where, found a pony escape route we hadn't spotted before. Best of all the neighbouring field is now full of sheep so they have fenced between the two fields, there were massive gaps before so that means that side isn't as urgent now.
Hubby suggested breakfast out this morning and we tried somewhere new as our favourite place was full up. It was the most bizarre dining experience I have ever had (an interactive experience apparently), very expensive and not really that nice, I don't think we will be going back there in a hurry.0
