No I have never used vinegar just the mayo/cream fraiche mix. I just keep an eye on how much onion I put in as if you get some strong onions they can be a bit over powering.0

I use half creme fraiche/half mayo and then a teeny bit of Dijon mustard too, or whole grain, whatever I've got in. Nom nom!LBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go
my diary: time to step up to the plate. SPC#0790 -
I make my own coleslaw and like to use red cabbage, not sure why as it is a pain when you stain your fingers pink!!
I just slice everything very thinly, used to grate but I get arm ache!!
I mix with half mayo and half salad cream - not sure where the idea came from but I prefer it this way.0 -
Lots of great coleslaw ideas, I might have to try them all! Thank you everyone for contributing
More pottering on the cards today too and trying to shove stuff in the freezer. January might see some interesting meals :rotfl:0 -
Well I’ve had my first go at making coleslaw and it wasn’t too bad. I’m going to try grating the cabbage next time though as only sliced it thinly this time.
I also started the meal plan for January to tie in with expiry dates of what’s in the fridge. There doesn’t seem to be as much in the freezer as I thought, but still going to see how far through January I get!!
Some more good news is that a few more customers have paid, so on the way to having enough in the business account for January wages :j0 -
Here’s to 2019 :T
Last night we watched a film and had a pizza from the freezer and today we have a long walk with the dogs planned.0 -
The first week of January is done, hoping I can get back into some kind of routine now and actually know what day it is!
All bank accounts are looking ok :j
Slowly working our way through the freezer/ cupboards. A few bits to get to be able to make some of it into meals. There is £107 in nectar points, so that should more than cover it with no real money spent
I’m putting a chicken casserole into the SC today, nice and easy food.
Also going to try and alter one of the dog coats so it fits better and then will be used instead of sitting in the cupboard. It may take a while with my limited sewing skills.0 -
That sounds good, EE
Thats a lot of nectar points too - I only have about £25, and I must say I'm getting a bit twitchy about using them up, what with the "shop apocalypse" we keep hearing about, and big firms going bust.
Anyway, never mind that today ... congratulations on using your sewing skills for the good2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Thanks KarmaCat. The points I think looking good due to the CC I got this year.
We’ve been putting as much of the extension stuff on there as possible, then paying off what was put on. One month we added and paid off 7k
A bit more used up yesterday making a banoffee dessert using an out of date tin and a banana frozen a while back.0 -
Wow ETE its all go go go!! Some amazing stuff going on! Happy New Year!
