Thank you KarmaCat, what a lovely compliment
I do have the outline of a cunning future plan developing!
For now though back to present day planning. I’ve been told the extension will start next Monday, so we had better shift everything out of the conservatory today. Also busy with year end accounts paperwork.
Whilst we have a digger for the extension foundations we are going to use it to extend some hard standing up the field which should make it much easier this winter. I do need to do a detailed plan for this too and it will mean more fencing - I thought we wouldn’t need to do any more fencing for ages :rotfl:
Plus lots of wet dog walks!0 -
Just read my last post about what I planned to do last weekend and most of it still needs doing, we weren’t lazing around much either so I guess I was overly optimistic with my time again!
All tasks are progressing but still need completing. I’ve only really got today to do them as we are off on a doggy road trip again tomorrow.
I’ve received news this week that the big work contract is to continue until mid-November. Which is good news for keeping the pennies coming in.0 -
That's great news on the contract continuing!
And I feel you on the 'in progress, but not yet finished' tasks - I've got a few of those to attack over the following week.0 -
Thanks julicorn, I really do need to get a couple of them ticked off the list this weekend.
Fingers crossed for your tasks too
Just having a cup of tea after shuffling the washing. A load is now on the line but it’s looking decidedly iffy on the weather front!0 -
Update on the list, please2023: the year I get to buy a car0

It’s going well thank you KarmaCat :T
I have 2 out of 3 of the months completed and just starting work on the third. Also messaged a friend - something I’ve been meaning to do for a while,
I will need to get out and walk the dogs soon though as my eyes are getting very tired!0 -
What a week!!
Things may have to get hardcore at Elephant Towers. Old faithful 4x4 was finally laid to rest, so lots of money now spent on replacement newer model.
Luckily we had the cash available, however it was meant for the extension
There will need to be a lot juggling and worse case a small loan, but I would really like to try and get to the stage where it is signed off by the planning department as started without borrowing anything.
Apparently the builders are turning up Tuesday to start the extension - I won’t believe it until I see it at this point.
I’m getting through my list, this weekend will be another busy one, with the added task of going to collect new 4x4 which is about 2hrs away.
Birthday meal for DD1 at home tomorrow and some emergency fencing needed up the stables due to neighbouring field cutting back the hedge so that there is now a gap - first job for new 4x4!
VAT return needs to be completed and I need to double check if the cc I recently took out is 0%. That is not what I took it out for, as I pay it off in total each month, but maybe if it is that will help with my juggling antics that are coming up. Also a couple dog events and the usual catching up with ironing.
I’ve also discovered a pear tree in our front drive with lots of pears on it, I’m sure I would’ve noticed last year if it had pears on it, so not sure what has happened there. I hope they taste good!0 -
Such a tiring day yesterday, but the new 4x4 is now home. It’s much bigger than the last one and has fancy mod cons like electric windows :rotfl:
It seems more economical on fuel than I thought too. We didn’t take out the alloy insurance the salesman tried to sell us, it is going in the field today after all!
Another point for pupster too yesterday, so a successful day all round
Plans for today include ironing, vat return, fencing, collecting sofa for DD and yummy fajitas for birthday tea.0 -
Happy Birthday to your DD for yesterday - hope the fajitas were yum!
Enjoy the new vehicle

Thank you greent, her birthday isn’t until Wednesday, but she likes to spread out the celebrations :rotfl:
Yesterday I managed to complete everything apart from the fencing, so a successful day whittling down the task list. I also managed to fit in doing a meal plan too.
Today we are off out at another dog event, packed lunch is ready and chilli in the slow cooker ready for when we get back.0
