Every set of T&Cs just say "Complain to OFCOM :money: Go to the ombudsman :money: ask for compensation :money:

    :money:

    Don't they?

Woah calm down guys... This is a money saving forum and I'm trying to save some money.

Imagine if I didn't realise (like many other people who don't really check their statements that often.) And they turned around in 24 months and presented me with a bill of over £1000? It would then be off to their friends at the debt collection agency. It's lucky that I caught this early!

I've already sent a cheeky letter to Vodafone hoping that they compensate me for an error they made. If they knock £50 off I'll be happy. It's principle.

I'll let you know how I get on.

    Thanks guys.

I was just wondering if there was any way I could get them to reduce the total amount as a gesture of good will seeing as it was a mistake on their behalf,

You've nothing to lose by asking. A DD is supposed to make things hassle free not a PITA.

The same thing happened to me with a gym membership. They made an error with the DD and it wasn't taken out of my account for 3 months - yet as my card continued to work during this time I was non the wiser until one day it was blocked and then I found out about the problem.

Basically they just said it was their fault. I signed up again and the 3 months were free. Good business all round.
