Milann's life keeps getting in the way.......

Total 2022 spends are now £29. I’ve just nipped you Morrison’s to fill up on a few things. Got some leeks reduced to 20p so leek and potato soup will be on the cards tomorrow and probably a few days afterwards. It was quite an eventful trip……the man in front of me didn’t have a mask on so I stayed well back. He was chatting to the checkout girl who was being polite but non judgemental. He was very obviously anti- vax. The lady behind me shouted across to shop chatting and start serving faster. The lady behind me and man in front of me started having a go at each other 😳 and there was me trying to make myself invisible 😏
I get to my car and was packing my bags at the car……I find it easier to do that than having to lift heavy bags from the trolley into the car. Next thing there was an almighty bump. A lady had driven right into a post……there were 2 empty spaces next to me than a post and a pedestrian crossing. Not sure what possessed her…there was plenty of space. There was a massive bump in the front of her car.
Ds is coming here instead of us going to see him. 👍January spends - £587.581 -
Sounds like Covid fever is getting to everyone . Enjoy your soup and whatever you are having later with DS .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.4

We had a lovely afternoon yesterday. Dh came around….we attempted a walk but it rained so we came back inside pretty pronto….then the rain stopped but the moment was lost. So we stayed in and had a games afternoon……we were all tv’d out, the weather has been so rubbish we all felt as if we’d wasted far too much time in front of the box. Then we had a curry fest. Dh brought a chicken one and a lentil Dahl which he’d previously made and frozen, and Dh made a lamb dapioza and spinach and paneer one which were both very mild….so I could eat them. I was in charge of naan bread, yoghurt dips and popadoms - the house stank of curry when I got up this morning. I’ve got candles burning in my kitchen and it’s slowly sorting it. We were going to make lassi sp) - the mango and yoghurt drink but I didn’t have enough ice 😏 it makes it a real feast cooking in advance 👍I had a very lazy morning with a lie in and then a chat with a friend. I’ve just eaten brunch and plan a bit of a tidy up 👍
No spends planned and tea will be left over rice with pork and black beans from the freezer.January spends - £587.582 -
Unexpected visit from a friend and unexpected phone call from a different friend this morning really cheered me up…..😁 Didn’t get the planned tidying done….but I probably wouldn’t have anyway 😂😂. I did hoover and mop and put some clothes away so still fairly productive 👍January spends - £587.581

Feeling a bit rubbish as my good arm is so sore….not sure if it’s a bit of arthritis or I’ve pulled something. I know I take on a lot of extra things than I used to with this arm as I can’t do as much as I used to since I had the surgery on my other arm. I’ve given myself a kick up the backside and am going out for a walk…..I can’t remember the last time I took myself out for a walk and cuppa at my favourite place where I saw the kingfisher in lockdown. It’s the first dry day we’ve had in a long while…..hopefully it’ll stay that way until I get back home 😁
Think I’m getting a bit anxious about the medical assessment with ESA tomorrow. It’ll make it very tight if they put a stop me claiming it…..but no point worrying about it - it’ll be what it’ll be. I’m lucky that I’ve got Dh, as my works pension is only a small one. I’d be up the proverbial creek without a paddle if I didn’t have him 😳😳 so maddening though as I’d have been retired and wouldn’t have these worries, had they not changed things 🤬January spends - £587.583 -
Your supermarket trip sounded eventful 😂😂. Well done for only putting on 1.5 pounds over Christmas 😇. I put on 5 pounds!
You're not the only one reluctant to go out due to Covid. I'm double jabbed and boosted but still don't do any indoor activities if I can help it apart from the supermarket, so it's ironic that I've caught Covid at work 😣 .
Your curry fest is making feel hungry and it's only mid morning 🤔.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Nothing like a bit of fresh air and listening to a bit of birdsong. (had to screen out the motorway and planes in the background though😂😂) to put the world back into perspective. I can’t remember going to my happy walking place since dd was here at October half term. I’ve missed it…..so I plan to go for a walk more often as I used to do 😁 I’m not putting a number on it as if I don’t make it I’ll think I’ve failed. But more often - weather permitting is what I’ll aim for. There were so many robins but they didn’t behave when I tried to take a photo 😂😂😂😂 I’d never make a wildlife photographer- every one of them flew off 😂😂 The sun tried its best but didn’t quite make it 🌥
I spent £3 on a cheese and tomato toastie and a cup of tea. Can’t knock it for value. I was speaking to the community cafe owner about friends of the park…..I’d had half an idea to join and volunteer when I could but they can’t get any committee members so can’t run a group 😏 but I’ll join the fb group and take it from there.
I was reading a book from the library by Dr Rangan Chattergee last week…..it made a lot of sense. One of the things he suggests is writing 3 positives a day down. I’ve tried this before but will give it another shot to see if I last a bit longer.
- dry weather so I could get out
- listening to nature
- giving myself a kick up the behind and getting things back into perspective
Another is not eating processed food with more than 5 (I think…..need to re read it) ingredients….I don’t usually eat much processed food but I’ll take that on board too…..then when I’ve mastered those will tackle some more of his life tips.

Your walk looks beautiful Milann. I love the waterfall. Is that place close to you?
I like the idea of the daily positives. A lot of people feel a bit meh after Christmas so it's a good way to get into a more cheerful frame of mind.
Good luck with your ESA assessment by the way. DS1 has those now and again and they always make him nervous. I would think that you'd keep getting the money with your medical conditions. A good tip is to describe yourself as you are on your worst days. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
