Well done on the wallpaper. The room will look lovely when it's decorated. And yes - have a good cull of all the 'stuff.'

I haven’t done a great deal today except try and keep myself awake as I’ve sat in the chair. I did make breakfast and dinner for us both and arrange my ornaments in the newly lit cupboard and cleaned the glass doors with window spray. That’s been my exciting day. The ceiling has been painted and 1 wall has had the lining paper put on it. There’s a couple of bubbles but hopefully they’ll go as it dries out. I think he wants to see how it is tomorrow before he does the rest of the walls.January spends - £587.582

The house still feels as if it’s got a long way to go. Nowhere seems to be straight and bits need finishing everywhere. My vinyl flooring has developed a bubble - the utility room is waiting for dh to do a couple of rows of tiles above the sink and the spare tiles taking back to B&Q out of the way then put a mirror up. I think I’m getting frustrated I’ve not got the umph to get much done myself and if I can’t do it I don’t like nagging dh. I was hoping he’d be furloughed for a while but he is in work tomorrow. It’s depending on what jobs they have in as to when he goes in.January spends - £587.583

I don’t sound very grateful in my last post. I am - I just want it finished and straight. I’d have done a lot more myself at one time I suppose I’m just frustrated. Right positive pants on - my black material has arrived - I might have a go at tackling the swivel chairs tomorrow.January spends - £587.583

I feel like my house will never be finished, it’s like painting the Forth Bridge. I’m annoyed with myself I’m just hopeless at DIY. No patience or time for painting or anything. Mr SA used to be quite good at decorating but obviously not able to now. I hate all the upheaval and mess too, I know it’s worth it in the end though.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

My house is like that too.

So positive pants went on today. I have only turned tv on whilst having a lunch break to watch an episode of Bridgerton. I have been tackling my chair. I’ve nearly covered one side of it. It’s fairly hard going on the fingers so I had to keep stopping for a rest. If you don’t look closely at the stitching it looks ok so far. It’ll give it a new lease of life and a few more years......if only somebody could do that to me 😏On one of my breaks I phoned my friend whose hubby had the stroke and is in the home. An hour later......but it was good to chat to her. Then my cousin phoned and that was another half hour. She is 80 next year and talking about getting her vaccine next week - if she asked me once if I’ve had mine yet 😂😂😂i kept telling her I’d be a while yet as I’m only 62 😳Anyway the phone line was bad and dh had the radio on so I sat on the stairs for a while where it was quiet. I heard drip, drip , drip and there’s water coming in above the window. It’s only about 3 years since we had all that plastered and it’s discoloured and wringing wet....Think we need something doing with the brickwork outside. We had some pointing done and a sealant put outside and thought we’d sorted it before we had the plastering done.....obviously not 🙄 So another job to the list.
Painter isn’t too happy with the papering he’s done as some of the bumps are showing through....I’ve told him it’ll be fine. So he’s done another coat on the ceiling today and will be back tomorrow.
We’ve got a telephone appointment with someone from the building society next week to talk savings accounts. He has sent some info out that we want to print off......the printer is usually in the room we’re decorating 😂😂 Dh has had to empty half of the front room which is piled with stuff to get to it.He’s set it up in the utility room then realised the printer is in the furthest corner of the room 😂😂😂😂😂😂 So we will get another pack of paper from B&M. I’ll be glad when everything is back in it’s rightful place 👍
I’ve finished sewing my chair for today and just having a cuppa and watching Finding Alice. It was a bit like I expected it to be like. We’re up to episode 3. Teas is leftover chicken dinner so will be easy to sort out.I’m totally up the shoot with my days as dh has only been in work for half a day this week.January spends - £587.582 -
