Milann's life keeps getting in the way.......

So I’ve been out this morning and bought the veg and a few buffet bits. Between relative and myself we’ll have enough for a lovely Christmas dinner without going mad and overbuying. I’m still totally gutted not to see gdds....it feels a very long time. I’m so pleased we went down in July as we very nearly didn’t go and were going to wait for the Summer holidays....by which time we were in tier 3 and couldn’t travel. I saw dd just after I came out of hospital when she came here for a couple of nights.
I’ve been on the phone to the stoma nurse this morning as I’m having a few minor hiccups with my new appliance. It’s just one of those things and how it’s going to be. Not what I wanted to hear but I have to keep telling myself if it wasn’t for this little bag I probably wouldn’t be here to moan about it 😏
I had a phone call from Occupational Health yesterday they wanted to do a phone interview between Christmas and New Year. I asked them to do it in the new year instead as I really don’t want the stress of that over Christmas....so 4th January 👍
So today I’m grateful for
- the talented doctors and nurses without which I’d have popped my clogs back in 2006 after the 1st perforation .....
- getting enough food for a Christmas feast
- being able to drive my car short journeys againJanuary spends - £587.583 -
I’m afraid I buy my salmon from Iceland skinned, boned, frozen and no fishy smells. I’m very squeamish about scales, heads and bones 🤢
I don’t blame you for putting off the OH call until after Christmas. Put your feet up and forget about work for a bit. Thank goodness for talented doctors and nurses saving your life 👏I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3 -

My DH has nabbed your Christmas lights ideas too Milann. I showed him the garden railway but he was also interested in the lights on the fencing so will be sorting that for next year apparently.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Glad to be of service 👍😂😂
I've just spotted the first of my garden bulbs coming through in the tub at my front door....a sign that spring is around the corner 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄 I never did get around to planting winter flowering pansies in my tubs as I ended up in hospital. I can’t believe the geraniums (pelargoniums if we’re being correct..but they’ll always be geraniums to me 😏) are still in flower....unheard of at Christmas around here. Just shows how mild it has been. I very much doubt they’ll survive the winter as I have nowhere to store them as we will get frost at some point and I hate the smell of them so don’t want them inside. Greenhouse envy SA.
When dh comes home I think we’re going out for a drive. There’s an area near where I work and there are a lot of gardens decorated.....they have a charity collection and it’s supposed to be very good. Then I have my last card through a friends door to post nearby. Lastly I’m popping into Mr S with a large clothing department for a t shirt or something as a surprise for dh. He was with me when I bought his present and I’d like to get him a surprise. Plus he’ll only have 1 present to open if I don’t as dd hasn’t posted her presents to us and we’ve said not to....we will have a special day when we meet up. Then fish and chips on the way home 😄
I’ve just been looking for tops online at next....I need some smocky style or tunics but it’s not my usual style and I can’t get excited over any, I keep playing with the idea of trying maternity jeans with a high waist to go over this bag....I can’t bring myself to order them. I actually called in store last week when I went into town and apparently they don’t stock mat. jeans in store....fed up of looking for clothes.com......I just don’t know what style to go for 🤔🤔January spends - £587.582 -

I’ve been out for a walk about to a little Ave a 15 minute drive away tonight. It was amazing....virtually every house was made Christmassy with lights...figures in the gardens, a big crib. Christmas music playing and families walking around at a distance. It was just lovely and it’s really lifted my spirits. They do it to raise money for charity. Just off to donate to the just giving page. Apparently it’s been on local tv too. I’ve wanted to go for a few years now but missed it. This might have to be a regular Christmas visit now...January spends - £587.581
