Still no plasterer....but there’s plenty to keep the builder that’s here busy.
Another NSD....I’d contemplated walking around to Morrison’s for a coffee but decided I want to do it with dh before I venture out on my own. I still feel a tad wobbly and weak after a while and not sure if I can make it that far yet.
It has been a long day today and I was beginning to feel a bit mouldy so I phoned a friend and an hour later we’d both had a moan, put the world to rights and ended up having a good laugh. Felt much better after so I phoned my brother ( I have to be in the right frame of mind as he can be glass half empty sort of guy 🙄🤪)....anyway he wasn’t around so I had a lovely chat to my sister in law. We also put the worlds to right. She is totally cheesed off as she hasn’t seen her gks since the beginning of July and they usually meet most weeks.....there’s going to be a lot of mental health problems before we’ve finished with people feeling isolated 😥
I’m waiting for the news to see what’s happening with our lockdown. I suspect we will be in the very strict tier in the very near future. I actually wish they’d come to some sort of decision as the sooner we start the sooner we get out of it .....I hope 🤞🤞🤞

So today I’m having my hair cut at nine then I’m doing an outside social distanced breakfast with my friend. I know she COVID free as she’s just tested negative after being contacted by track n trace.  Could be a tad chilly. We have the new lockdown from Friday......I don’t really mind the lockdown if it achieves something to reduce this virus........but I feel the way politicians are playing with people’s emotions and well being is disgusting. Point scoring at a time like this isn’t good 😡😡😡😡
I don’t even want to think ahead as to how long this lockdown might last. I’m not looking any further than what’s happening each day.
I felt really sad after chatting to dd the other day. Eldest gk said she can’t wait for Christmas so dd asked her what the best bit of Christmas is. She got all excited and said ‘just seeing ALL my family’ - it’s all she’s ever known - myself ds and dh staying and her other nana and sometimes other auntie.....we just all muck in together, play games and have fun. Dd said she’ll have to start warning her gently that it might not be happening without crushing her 😢😢 What a blooming year!!!
    My positive thoughts
I’ve nearly finished the baby cardigan
    I’m getting my hair cut
i am managing to cook tea again (easy teas but I’m doing it 😄)

Morning milann 😊 Good to look at the positives and take each day as it comes right now, that's all we can do I'm afraid. I feel like I've got mixed up with what's happening where, who's in what tier and what we can/can't do. It's all such a mess. I hope the weather is dry for your outdoor breakfast, it's mild here but wet.

I had my hair cut yesterday- she always does a good job BUT never cuts my fringe short enough - says if she cuts it shorter I’ll look like a slap head 😱😱 I’ll end up getting the scissors out in a few weeks....but it’s convenient, just across the road and it’s good to have a natter with her.
I walked to a local cafe with my friend- only 5 minutes away and had a toasted teacake and cuppa. It was delicious- I can’t remember the last time I had a toasted teacake as they’re not exactly SW friendly......but it was delicious. I walked back and my friend poked her nose in to see the alterations to the house so far......I suppose she shouldn’t have but I could have given her a hammer and paid her 50p and it would have been allowed as she’d have been working😂😂😂
I was done in after my busy morning so chilled and watched Rebecca 👍👍 I really enjoyed it 👍👍
Well the plasterer arrived yesterday.....he’s the bosses son and I suspect is taking advantage of this fact 🤔🤔 The labourer has been everyday on the dot of 8 and worked his socks off. Right through his dinner time some days. Anyway the plasterer arrived sometime between 11 and 12. Then vanished......he was supposed to be working late but dropped in to tell me it wasn’t worth starting as it was too late but he’d be here in the morning. Labourer was here just before 8..... as of yet no sign of the plasterer......I’ll give him until after I’ve had the phone interview with occy health then get onto his dad 😡

I haven't watched Rebecca yet, saving it for Sunday night.

The plasterer arrived just before 12....he is still here.😄
I had the conversation with occupational health....she asked what my long term plans were...as work wanted to know if I’d be fit to do my job. I kept my cards close to my chest as it’s not the right time to make major decisions so soon after major surgery. I think I know what I want to happen but don’t want to commit to it just yet until I’m 100% sure it’s what I want. Interestingly off the record she told me not to reduce my hours because if work start proceedings for retirement due to ill health it will reduce my pension.....I think work will start proceedings. I think what’s complicated things is each time I’ve had long term sickness it’s been something totally different - otherwise they might have already gone down that route. It’ll be what it’ll be.....
We’ve been out looking at kitchens and flooring. We’re torn between a really nice and very expensive wood effect vinyl flooring and wood style tiles....thanks to the ideas on here. I’d quite like the laminate like in my hall but am worried about having it near water and swelling if water leaks from anything. We have a Howden s catalogue and have been to look at the door colours. We like the slate grey door. So we will be busy designing later.
im absolutely done in now though and having a cuppa on the bed.

  • Getting out with your friend was a great idea, it's good to have a different conversation. The kitchen sounds like it's coming on nicely , hopefully you will be able to choose the right kitchen for you.
I think Christmas will be very different this year if we can't travel, I guess we have to wait and see.
Hope you have had a good rest.

Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.

  • Im glad you got to have breakfast with your friend, I do like a toasted tea cake with lots of butter 😍 I was going to watch Rebecca tonight but then didn't feel like it, I might watch it tomorrow, I think I'm put off because I don't like the actress Lilly James, she annoys me for some reason 😀

I quite like  Lilly James. Funny have we all have our preferences....it’d be a boring old world if we were all the same.
Dh is working today - he’s usually off on a Friday. I’m half enjoying the quiet and half missing him. I don’t quite know what to do with myself. I’m tired and feeling a bit meh today so a lazy day is probably the best thing. I’ve had a couple of busier days and I woke up at 3 am because my hip was sore and I was thinking window ledges 🤔🤔😳😱😂 as you do at 3 in the morning.  There’s going to be a window in the new utility room and I couldn’t remember what we’d said about putting a window ledge in as we’re not tiling that wall.....so I tossed and turned all night and couldn’t get comfy 🙄😡
Waiting for the plaster to turn up. He actually did a good job yesterday once he started.....it’s just getting him started. The labourer has been here since 8 am. Bosses son is certainly taking advantage and his dad just laughs - he wouldn’t get away with it in a different company 🙄🙄🙄
I’m also waiting for the nurse -  I can’t believe a week has gone since the last visit. I’m hoping this might be the last 🤞
