Evening all
Jazzee - glad OldDog comfortable and hope he heals well.
LW - how horrible. I don't understand why people have to be hostile at all. Hope you get the right results
MMM - hope your headache improved with a good night's sleep
Mumof2 - what a mix-up with your eye appointment but pleased for the result.
I love A*di - it's a smaller size sm (which I like) and I find the fresh produce really good. They don't have the usual 'branded' goods, but I find their own brands better than the sm's value products.
My 'best buys' there are F & V, milk and dairy, tinned, sauces and pasta and chicken. Their alcohol is also reasonable. Think you have to go with an open mind and try a few things -good luck.
FBO - what a 'mare of a day - sorry to hear of all your damages and leccy probs. Hope you have a better day the morrowGawd, I just read that as Tinder :rotfl:. Nearly snorted my tea!
Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
Clean oven - because I know it wasn't on the list last week

Morning all. Up since silly o'clock as OldDog was howling - she's settled down again now.
So I've done our paperwork for the month - payday here today, had breakfast and washed the dishes. About to do some exercise and have a bath before the paid stuff. Obviously no walkies here this morning as I can't leave OldDog on her own to take LittleyDog out so I'll have to wait till DH is home tonight and go out in the dark.
I may even take a look at the list!
Have a great day everyone - well it can't be any worse than what we all seem to have had yesterday, can it?Spend less now, work less later.0 -
My goodness Dizzy that sounds scary!!! We had some storm damage to our house a few years ago and got a job done on the insurance that was in fact nothing to do with the storm and needed doing anyway! Well sometimes you need a bit of good luck with these things.
FBeast hope you get your electrics sorted. And hugs to those who need it, we seem to be having a hard time of it at the moment. Lets hope February brings better things.
Paid stuff this morning, home this aft with nothing planned at the moment so will crack on with some flying.
Well done for getting through yesterday Mumof2 bet you were exhausted at the end of it.
Right, paid stuff, need to get ready and it looks like the car needs defrosting!0 -

What is wrong with January? Lamewolf having a horrible, painful time with an assessor, Dizzy's caravan gas cooker bursting into flames, FBO's electrics on the fritz? Massive (((hugs))) for all of you.
Ionafan, can I have a copy of the diet sheet that allows scones, cream and jam? We're a bit partial to that sort of thing down here and I'd be absolutely thrilled to bits if I could indulge and stay the same weight! You're lovely just as you are.
Serious *healing vibes* for OldDog's poorly paw and a (((hug))) for you, too, Jazee. At least with Mrs Dog when she fell down the stairs I knew she wasn't in pain because I knew it was demylination. More (((hugs))).
FBO, what a sorry saga about the fridge and then the floor - mine needs defrosting but now I'm rather worried about doing it! We've just left the little ornamental rip (or three) in our kitchen floor vinyl that happened because we didn't realise a heavy wardrobe we were man-and-woman-handling upstairs had a nail stuck out of the bottom. No-one else seems to have noticed it, so we just think of it as adding character to the place.
Dog walked, breakfast scoffed, desk under attack.Better is good enough.0 -
Morning all.
Mumof2 - Hugs for yesterdays poop day. I shop in A*di and A$da. I do my list on mysupermarket and then "print" a split list so I can buy the stuff where ever its cheaper or I prefer (I don't like their own brand coffee, so I stick to A$das). I also make a note of A$das price in case I can get it cheaper in A*di but the website didn't say so and take both lists with me on one page. The quality of their stuff is good, and although their normal stock can be limited in choices compared to the bigger supermarkets, I love their specials! I bought my new slowcooker and breadmaker from there. I'm finding I'm buying more and more from there as I'm making the effort to compare prices and trying things out.
Dizzy - at your cooker, but :jat the new floor :T
FBO - Hope today is a better day for you.
Hugs, spoons, vibes and loads of sticks to chase the BD who are circling.
I've discovered the wet patch on the sofa probably wasn't pee but Zack licking it as one has appeared again this morning while I've been on here. It must be boredom. I just gave him his sliding puzzle and he got all the treats out in less than 30 seconds. Now I've given him his weeble style treat ball with some of his kibble in it he's chasing that around, trying to get the top off it again and leaving a trail of kibble all over the floor when he's not getting it stuck under the sofa. Hopefully that'll keep him busy & entertained while I get on with stuff. Just wish he would eat the kibble!

Morning all - my goodness, half of it's gone already
What a *!*!*!*! day yesterday. Hope Dizzy, LW, FBO and Jazee's Old Dog are all feeling a bit better today.
LW, you said that that woman inflicted pain on you. I hope you screamed at her! Did she actually (wo)manhandle you? If so, it would probably constitute assault and you have a right to complain.
Mumof2, I do the bulk of my shopping at @ld1, and have done for years. They sell much better quality lines than they used to, and I can get 4 large bags of food there for the price of 2 small ones at MrT or MrS. Like Narc0 and nicki, I highly recommend the fruit and veg (especially the Super 6 weekly offers of seasonal produce) and the meat (they do the minced beef with only 5% fat - great for SW), and their range of products is increasing all the time. But they generally only sell one brand of (say) baked beans, so if you don't like those you will have to go elsewhere as well. They often have special buy groceries which are worth keeping an eye on - often German products which are subject to strict quality controls and generally very nice. Their frozen petits pois are as cheap as some shops' ordinary peas, and much sweeter
Honey Bear, I can eat anything I want - but in moderation! Gone are the days of scoffing a couple of scones each: nowadays DH and I normally share one for a treat. But my need for sweet treats has diminished over the past couple of years as my taste buds have adapted, and I can resist temptation... most of the time, anyway. Sadly, DH's taste buds are taking much longer to adapt, and he struggles most days with cravings for chocolate or biscuits, so he's finding it much harder to lose weight. After our 2-week holiday in December, I'm still trying to get back to my previous weight, but it's hard to drum up enthusiasm for outdoor exercise in this misty greyness, and I hate gyms and can't manage swimming any more because of my injured shoulder. We're hoping to get out to a NT place tomorrow for a walk in the park, when the forecast for the afternoon is sunshine.
I did quite a lot off my list yesterday, including the Gift Aid claim (which is a pain because I only submit one a year and I always forget how to do it and panic). Today my priority is the ensuite ceiling. I need to go to $cr€wfix and get some stain cover paint and white emulsion, but I'll lay out the plastic sheets and start filling the hole before I go - it's about the size of a 20p piece and will need to dry out and be rubbed down a few times before I can paint over it.
Catch up later. (((Hugs))) spoons and sticks to all who need them. Hope everyone has a good day x0 -
Woke up today feeling more dopey than usual; Mr N had gone out early for a blood test and, with kind intentions, had turned on the heating so I wouldn't be cold getting up. Actually it had the reverse effect. We haven't actually put it on a timer this year at all as, just turn it on when we need it. Very frosty this morning.
- DW on
- chicken (A!di's) casserole in slow cooker
- making slow progress with report, I keep allowing myself to get distracted today.
Off to uni soon. Mr N is going to see Star Wars film with his friend this eve, so I should manage a bit more report writing if I don't get too distracted by Flowers in the Attic which I recorded recently - loved the books when I was .....much younger.....but expecting and hoping the film with be carp so I can delete it and do some work!
Have been using MyFitnessPal for 8 days now and have lost 3lb so I'm pleased. However, I am out for a meal with work tomorrow (beef rib with rice, followed by Eton Mess) then we are eating at the local pub on Sat with friends. May try and rouse myself to do Pilates before Body Attack tomorrow......Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Firstly, thanks everyone for your advice re supermarkets. For the first time for ages I've sat down and done a proper meal plan for 7 days from today so know I'll have all the things I need. I then went onto mysupermarket.com which is something I've never used before and been able to check the cheapest place for everything which is actually Mr M (where I normally go!). A*di unfortunately didn't have over 30 of the things I wanted and as time is limited I went with Mr M but will definitely look into an A*di shop when near our local.
Apart from a load in the WM haven't done any real flying yet as the above took ages plus saw the minister at my church and told him how Relate went last week - was there for well over an hour so that's another chunk of the day gone. Very productive though. Got another Relate session tomorrow with J.
Picked up another bit of paid work for this evening so bit more money in the kitty. I'll need to read the notes but also must do some housework once I've had my lunch. Anyone fancy a HHC or 2 or more at 1.00??Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0
