Good and Bad Buys from Aldi & Lidl *Do NOT Expire Please*

Just been to Aldi and all their high fruit squash is now full of nasty tasting aspartame and other artificial sweeteners.
Previously apple and summer fruits were "full fat", but no more.0 -
Went past Lidl on way to Aldi then stopped and did whole shop at Lidl. Balsamic vinegar that Aldi currently doesn't do - great. Lamb shank - single shank instead of a pair in pack like Aldi. Not as good value never mind bought for DS.
Previous week annoyed at Aldi because no fruit cookies only tons of ginger due to their stock control lumping all flavours together and of course the less popular ginger ones get left while others are OOS.0 -
Have to admit my loyalties are shifting. I've been shopping at Aldi for years but am going more and more to Lidl. Even better is their 30% off offers. Aldi never reduce anything so wonde what happens to their short life products ?You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0

I always buy balsamic vinegar in Aldi, unless they've only stopped it very recently.0 -

The bottle has changed. Instead of a large, 99p bottle, it's smaller, 59p ish and dark glass. It looks as though I need to make more of an effort to take a trip out to Lidl judging by comments on here. The only problem with that is my nearest is approx a 40 mile round trip and in a direction I very rarely travel. Has anyone here ever visited the Thetford store?0

I don't have a Lidl within easy reach, but when I didn't have an Aldi either and no access to independent transport, Lidl was marginally easier for a big shop as the buses were more convenient.
Many Aldi lines are seasonals, so that's why they go and then reappear. Not sure what's going on with the bread flour though, I had some stashed but have now run out, boo hiss. I have queried its disappearance with Aldi and asked for an email response.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again...
