Just visited Aldi Oh my word it's freezing in there! Too cold to stop and look at things I was wearing a hoodie, t-shirt and jogging bottoms. I had to resort putting the hood over my head. Feet are like ice blocks. Can't get warmed through despite being home for 30 mins and had a hot drink.
Is this normal for Aldi?
Again no small trolleys People like using small trolleys as if you have mobility/back issues, you don't have to bend forwards that much to get stuff out of the bottom. Plus its a kind of budget control! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I love the fact Aldi is on the cooler side as I absolutely hate feeling hot and sweaty whilst shopping, especially when unloading and reloading the trolley at checkout. Plus, you wouldn't want it to be too warm and have the fresh food going off prematurely due to temperature fluctuations.0

I know what ScarletMarble means. Sometimes I go in the open cold food area of Sainsbury's and it can be very cold there. It's not it's just cold but the cold that has a kind uneasy body penetrating feel to it.
And this is from someone who goes wondering around when there is snow on the ground in just a shirt and jumper with no coat. The more I live, the more I learn.

Lidl Mini Ice Cream cones - 12 for 99p
Several flavours including Duo (Oreo) and Vanilla. These are perfect miniature Cornetto type ice cream cones. I assume they are meant for kids, but they are a delicious, if small, ice cream treat for adults, too.0 -

I popped in at around 5pm yesterday for just a couple of bits and the place was packed with families and huge trolleys, which is not what you want to find in front of you. All the checkouts were open but queues were still forming. I wish they would consider having a basket only lane, I'm sure it would always be busy.
Well that's odd because none of the ones around here are open at that time. They all close at 4pm. Might explain why yours was so busy. I find mornings between 8-9am to be the quietest.0 -

I realise that he would have had little choice but to sit there until he was told to close the till, but you just wouldn't see that at Aldi: they jump on and off tills like fairground rides. I'd much rather shop in a place where the staff have a bit of get up and go than in a store that lets people twiddle their thumbs whilst the customer pays for that privilege through increased prices.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
