The Czekolateria ( made in Poland ) fruit flavoured chocolate bars are back this week at Lidl . Well worth a purchase - or 2 or 3 . 49p for 100g

Is it just me, or does anyone else find the Lidl clingfilm infuriating?
It's almost impossible to get off the roll!
You know you're getting old when you're complaining about cling film being too clingy!

In case it's not been noticed the Aldi website now allows you to search for individual food items, which are shown with price and other details - it seems pretty comprehensive too.

They've started trialling online deliveries in parts of London, so this is presumably necessary for that - though it looks as if it might be expensive. Anybody able to test it yet?

The Lidl website shows some details too, but it's not anything like as comprehensive as the Aldi website. They always seem to be behind Aldi in the UK and act as followers rather than leaders. Still don't take Amex either!

I bought some of the Jelly Beans that were on offer this weekend at Lidl. They are excellent (really good flavours, and not too sweet).
  • Anyone know if Aldi have stopped selling their Saxon moist toilet tissue wipes? Not seen them in my local store for a couple of weeks now.
  • Sorry, I have no idea how to add a photo (asking for a URL?) but just wanted to say the new Aldi Specially Selected Mini Bites are absolutely delicious. They are so much better, imo, than either the M&S or Waitrose ones. Two varieties — Brownies (purple tub) and, my favourite, Marshmallow Brownie Bombs. £1.99 a tub.

Guessing it's these. Could only find images on Irish websites. They do look quite tasty.

I like Aldi cupasoups. Not too salty.

No cupasoups in my Aldi any more - do you mean Lidl ("Newgate")?

These are Chicken & Veg (excellent), Tomato & Veg (excellent), and Minestrone (okay, but a little thin).

I flicked through the latest Aldi catalogue earlier. It features loads of Christmas stuff but I can't get over the price of the mince pies: £1.99-£2.99 per pack. I usually look forward to their luxury mince pies, but at this price I'll probably buy the bog standard version, punch a hole in the top and add a teaspoon of brandy to each.
