If anyone had any sense (or receive feedback from store management) at Head Office they would give some consideration to 1 stack/pallet for each type of mixer.
Funny how HO might need convincing how something so barn-door obvious needs to be done. Perhaps they subscribe to the litigation-prior-to-corrective action approach.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I had an interesting chat with my local Aldi manager last week along similar lines. I had been overcharged for the Moser Roth chocolate twice in two weeks because the staff did not understand that the old and new recipe packs were different sizes with different prices, and had put them all together under the new price label.
He said exactly that: the store layout plans come from HO, and they didn't have a great deal of discretion to change them. I restrained myself from asking whether the plan included built-in errors that could only confuse customers.
He put the box of old recipe packs where they should have been (but on top of a third variety that shouldn't have been there).0 -
Omg, I bet he thought you were Victor Meldrew:rotfl: was dangerous though I admit 😁
If I had done what he'd done with those drinks at my old place of work, l would have been given a company refresher course in H&S on the shop floor. The more I live, the more I learn.

But I have 2 Aldi's which though they are set around a plan but are so different on where the stock is, I have to think where the stuff is when I shop at either of them.
Plus I have 4 Lidl's in my town. Set to a basic plan but different in where the stock is due to shop sizes. The more I live, the more I learn.

I got the impression that what he meant was that he gets a shelf plan for his store, and the expectation is that he and his staff will mostly stick to it.
Presumably, with stores being different shapes and sizes, each one must have a bespoke plan (or perhaps one plan for each group of stores with a similar layout?) It sounds like a logistical nightmare, but I suppose that's what they are there to do.0 -
Dad picked up an Aldi Christmas food guide. It's a bit misleading. As there are a few things which had a freezeable star by them. It looks like they are in the fresh chiller. They are actually frozen. Would be better if they grouped the frozen items togetherThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Has anyone tried this year's variations on the Aldi SS mince pies yet? Any verdict on salted caramel, or orange and chocolate?Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Aldi are selling boxes of ten ice cream bites for 99p. I've tried two flavours, marc de champagne and strawberry, both are gorgeous. A really lovely little treat. Sorry, can't find on website to link to, in spite of typing name exactly as it is on the packaging. They are like A box of chocs, but with ice cream centres. Aldi puff pastry is getting high marks in this household. It puffs up better than the equivalent product we'd been getting from Waitrose.0

I went to my newly refurbished Aldi for the second time yesterday. It was really busy being a Sunday but I didn't have a choice as we'd been away. It'll probably take a few more weeks for people (including me) to become familiar with the new layout but there are still lots of people (also including me:o) doubling back the 'wrong' way up the aisles looking for things they've missed with the new layouts.
One thing I have noticed is that it's really cold in the store particularly at the back where all the chillers are. So (note to self) wrap up warm when shopping in Aldi.ScarletMarble wrote: »The mixers should not be mixed! I'm assuming you mean that they should change the pallets to only include one type per pallet and then display them separately? The current set up doesn't allow for this. It's not just the mixers that are in mixed trays/pallets it applies to lots of things like cheeses, jars of condiments, ready meals, cooked meats etc. Someone once explained what the advantage is to Aldi but I've forgotten why.0
