Just opened one of Lidl's W5 air fresheners. A jar containing little beads with a grid on top. Sorry can't find it online, maybe it's a new product? The fragrance is Green Lagoon. I'm sorry to say that it is awful! Has a very strong, acrid smell reminding me of acetone! I know that I could return it but I don't think that I could stand the smell in the house until next shopping day! (My OH agrees that it's unpleasant but says that it's more 'apple-y' maybe it's just me...)

There's a new 10 check-out large Aldi that's recently opened, it's a different layout with fruit and veg by the main entrance, seems to have a bigger range, has anyone else been in a larger store and do they have a bigger range generally?

My local Aldi has been closed for a month for refurbishment and reopened today. I plan to go there tomorrow so it'll be interesting to see how/if it's changed. I'll report back.:)

but as far as I can see they have only moved stuff around and smartened it up a bit, waste of time as it was annoyingly closed for two or three weeks.

... I purchased a mens razor from Aldi. When I went to buy some replacement blades a few days ago they were nowhere to be seen (nor the razor itself). Suspecting it had been discontinued I contacted Aldi. I've just had a call from them confirming that's the case ....

BTW this http://www.boots.com/boots-max-shave-5-five-blade-shaving-system-and-trimmer-10205902 gets good reviews. They also do a 3 blade as well.

Thanks for that. After a bit of investigation though, I think I've established that the discontinued Aldi Lacura razor is actually a rebadged Dorco PACE 4:

    https://www.razorsbydorco.co.uk/pace-4-razor

so I may try obtaining some Dorco blades to try. Alternatively I think these:

    https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/shop/gb/groceries/sainsburys-advance-6-blade-trimmer-refill-x4

are made by Dorco and should fit.

Update: I managed to find a deal on Amazon for Dorco 6 blade cartridges at 75p per cartridge. This is 25% cheaper than Aldi used to sell them for, so perhaps it's a good job they were discontinued!

Update 2: Having now received the Dorco blades, I can confirm that they do indeed fit the Lacura handle.

Refurbished shop is very smart indeed. Sounds like a standard new layout with veg as you go in etc. Stock seemed much the same although moved around. One observation is that it was very cold in there, maybe because of all the chillers for ready meals etc. I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Two or three weeks ? They have totally demolished our Aldi and it will be closed for 11 months !!

However, it is supposedly going to be the biggest Aldi in the UK

Are either of these 10 checkout stores?

To be honest I don't really know. I usually just concentrate on the one(s) that are open.:D

Next time I pop into this branch I'll have a count.

I think my local is 8 checkouts. Generally between 1-3 are open at any one time. I don’t think I’ve ever seen more than 6 lanes open at Christmas.

I think mine's an 8 too but generally almost all of them are open and I try to pick a quietish time to go. I went once on a Sunday and there were queues down the aisles with all the checkouts open. Aldi is very popular round here although we only have one branch for a city of about 300, 000 within the boundary.
