Anything you would shell out for???

Options
I try to watch the pennies as much as I can. I'm a single mum who needs to make money stretch.

I cook from scratch as much as i can and i rarely treat myseolf, my two children ( 7 and 4) already know the value of money.

Why I shop I always take a list and try to stick to get planning menus etc buying store brand, but the one thing I pay that little bit more for is ham, I don't like to think what cheap ham actually is, I'm not a huge fan but my daughter loves it.
Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else had a "thing" they didn't mind paying that little bit more for???

A decent loaf of bread. And I agree with you on the ham and any other cooked meat.

Fabric conditioner, I just love my Lenor.I'm really miserly with the washing powder but my clothes smell so good with Lenor .Cuts down on ironing time too cause they are much softer.

  • I won't buy cheap meat. I'd rather have it less often if money is tight. I don't buy cooked meat often but if I do then yes I agree with the the ham thing, that awful wet packet stuff - makes me want to be a vegetarian.

I wish my clothes were soft, doesn't matter what i wash with my towels with they are always rough as sandpaper, still saves me having to buy exfoliator!! LOL :T

I'm also fussy about ham - the cheap square stuff is so artificial and wet!

Not sure about other meat though - the chicken breasts in Aldi and much better than Asda and Tesco. I'm fussy and cut all the white or red stringy bits off - with the Asda/Tesco ones i end up throwing away half the breast! Aldis's hardly ever have any 'scabby' bits.

One thing I have to have, is Heinz beans noone elses can compare.

Yup - free range eggs. Only buy about six eggs every month but after going inside a battery farm once when i was a kid, I could NEVER buy cheap eggs. Plus, I have a thing at the moment for Comfort Sweet Almond "Conditioning Creme" (softener). They sent me a free sample once and it smells so heavenly, I can't bear not to use it, even though it costs two quid a bottle. Kinda makes up for my £1.50 for a massive box Value washing powder!
