My teapot is a little glass one from IKEA. I hope your Easter got off to a good startIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

I used the £3 frying pan from Sainsb**** today from their basic range. It's awful. It's so thin the food cooks unevenly. I have thrown it away. It was cheap but rather expensive really because it's in the bin now and that £3 could have gone towards a decent frying pan.
The 30p sweet and sour sauce I bought a few weeks ago tasted okay but my body disliked it and I felt sort of foggy after eating it so I threw the rest away.
My £5 Tesc* kettle was cheap but it spills everywhere and I am not comfortable with drinking from heated up plastic so today that went in the bin too.
Can you see a pattern? I love charity shop finds so I'm not being snobby it's just that cheap products don't make sense to me, they seem to cost more in the long run. So even though I have lots of debt to repay I am not buying cheap products anymore. I'll go without until I can buy what I need...
There, said it.
Off to have a swim and then straight out from there, but I woke up starving so I had breakfast and now I need to wait a while or I'll sink or get cramp or something...
3 good things
Daffodils ignoring the mess in my garden and raising their heads in happiness anyway
A good night's sleep
I started on my DVDs last night and Brooklyn? Brilliant and a visual treat too.
Happy Easter MSE folk

There's nothing snobby about not liking cheap goods, especially when they are things that you need to heat up or plug into the electricity mains! Have you tried Swagbucks? It can be monotonous building up the points, but you do get Amazon and other vouchers awarded and maybe these things could help either pay or give you a discount towards some sale items? I'm sitting here again with my phone plodding through the videos which gives me 30 SB's daily. They can run while you're doing other things but can just keep a check that all's going ok. To put it in perspective I think you need 899 SB's for a £5 Amazon voucher so you may feel it's not worth it for you. I like to feel like I'm earning something even when I'm doing nothing much.

DIA I totally agree, quality is the important thing and it doesn't necessarily relate to cost. I am always flummoxed at people who pay for labels - if you can't tell the difference in quality without the branding, then clearly it doesn't matter to you! I've lost count of the times I've had compliments on clothes or shoes that are unbranded / from Ebay/ from a charity shop/ from a shop that the person complimenting me wouldn't enter! But I also buy expensive chocolate, pure cotton bedding and ethically produced meat - it's all about what matters to you, and allocating your money where YOU get most value.
Re cookware, if you have a TK Ma77 nearby it might be worth a look at theirs. I have a lovely little ceramic frying pan that was quite cheap and is lovely quality - it wasn't a brand I know, but I could tell by the weight and design that it should be good and it is.

Agree re the cheap with the exception of the sainsbugs value fish slice at 25p. It is flimsy but I just got fed up with oh constantly leaving good ones in pans to melt!Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Thanks Rosa, I do indeed have a TK M***nearby so I shall look for a ceramic frying pan. I totally agree about your comment about quality. Yesterday was a spendy day. I knew it would be. I wanted to be able to treat my godson and his brother and I'm glad I did. I took my friend an Easter present of mini chocolate eggs and 2 cups and saucers that I knew she would love. It was hard for me to give them as I love my china but I need to lose my attachment to them and either sell items or gift them. I have a beautiful birthday box for another friend with some blue and white spotted 1970s teacups/saucers and side plates. I'm going to buy a little white Muji teapot to go with them. If I add chocolates and nice tea it will make a nice birthday box. Saves me money and declutters in a personal way. Must do this more.
Thought about going to get some Easter yellow sticker bargains but part laziness and part thinking I don’t want to spend my Easter Saturday hunting for food. I have enough for now. Bargains will happen again and I am due a NSD after yesterday.
I made some beetroot burgers, some jacket potatoes, humous, tahini dressing, and giant fish fingers. I made a salad of carrots, cucumber and seeds and a lentil and tomato miso soup so that should keep me going for a few days.
Another 5 items into the charity shop bag
3 good things
I saw my godson yesterday and he bought me a giant Lindt Easter Egg. I haven’t been given an Easter egg for years and years :j
I love my peace lily. I put it in a old champagne bucket that I picked up years ago. There hasn’t been lots of champagne on ice in this house so it’s good to see it used
A NSD :T
i hope you are all enjoying Easter
