Hurrah for NSDs
Ald1 are great - I used to go to the one here but have kinda stopped as I have to get gluten free stuff elsewhere, and can't be dealing with both trips. Only problem is the temptation with their homewares stuff which is sometimes really good - I am still chuffed with the slate tableware that I picked up for £6 there and saw practically the same in the local posh garden centre for £35
Hope your payment turns up on time

Hello DIA,
I've finally had a chance to catch up on your diary and I'm sorry to hear how down you've sounded.
It's a little frustrating for me as, with my clear out, I'm giving away things you could very much do with (like brand new pans and things like that)! We need a "safe" address to send things to and get them collected!!!
If you feel that "blowing" NSD's isn't helping you, then if you work out a budget for certain things - ie. Groceries - then if you do go out and spend part of your budget on much needed tea then it's still an NSD as you had accounted for food purchasing. Only "out of budget" items are actual spends that can upset an NSD! I found that after feeling I'd messed up a few times it became normal, so I needed a new tactic and that works perfectly for me.
I have my electrician booked for this evening. He's only coming round to check that there is no plumbing required for my new shower, so it's looking like that virtual champagne could be mine. The thing is, I think we're both doing so well with moving through our fears that I think we should virtually pay half each and then we should toast our progress together! Is that ok with you?
So, once my electrician has finished and fixed my shower and plugs you can put your half aside. When yours is done I'll add my half and we'll have a little party where all lovely people on both diaries are invited?
Take care and have a lovely Thursday!

Yay MT is back :T and not a moment too soon
I thought I was sounding upbeat, but you have me banged to rights as yes, I am struggling. I am going to use the way you handle NSDs as I do find them very, very, hard sometimes. This is a 2 year project for me so I need to find a way to make it manageable...Little things like running out tea and doing without depress me disproprtionately
However, good things have been happening too and I am making the changes I need to. I just have to find a way of making life easier along the way
Yay on your electrician. Thank you for the offer of sharing your champagne. I accept and I will share my bottle when I get my electrical repairs done too.
I hope you've had fun as well as chores in your post birthday break MT

Today did not go according to plan.
I spent £20 on food!! Most of it was reduced but I added in chocolate and crisps for good measure. So now I feel unhealthy as well as not keeping to plan
I don't really want to dwell on today so I'm going to move swiftly on and start again tomorrow.
It wasn't all negative as I swam at 6.30 am and then went straight to work. That's about the best thing I did.
3 good things
I swam this morning
I got a seat on the train in the first class carriage all the way to work
I remembered my flask so hot, good coffee on the station platform at 06.12
I hope your day was better than mine

yaaay thread party on the way :j I will add canapes if you like as hopefully hitting my Bank DF day soon too!
DIA, have you looked at Freecycle and similar in your area? Even if you're not near MT, somebody else might be having a clearout!
Fear tackling and self motivation tactics are all part of the journey. I haven't really focused on NSDs as I found there were often things that got in the way, especially when life was busy and things couldn't necessarily stick to routine - MT's way makes a lot of sense

Aren't flasks fab? I bought myself a pretty one and now can have fab hot herbal tea en route to college - which means no need to buy coffee when I get there too :T

Thanks Rosa. I think both you and MT are right about NSDs I might have 'micro money' days were I have a spend of under £3. I don't think I would lose out as I'm finding with NSDs I overshoot after to compensate. It's early days....I'll see...
Re 'stuff' I need to be careful as I need to get stuff out ultimately. There isn't much I need and I can wait...
Yum to the canapes. Something gluten free with maybe a little smoked salmon thrown in?? When you have your Bank DF day I think it will have to be a bit bigger than shared champers and a few canapes!!

I'm not going to beat myself up today. I managed to take a healthy soup, salad, fruit and a flask of coffee to work, so I wasn't tempted to spend. Although I still managed to spend £14 on groceries
I walked for 30 minutes or more today. I couldn't swim because my swimwear was still wet. I need to get a second set.
I planned out my whole week including Easter and beyond. I think some of my recent slip-ups are due to lack of planning. After this post I am going to menu plan too. My abysmal diet this week is partly due to not having anything in the fridge ready to eat when I get home. I cook from scratch and can't do that after work so I need to cook in advance...
3 good things
Everyone crowding around the escalator so I took the stairs and got out of the station quickly. I'm thankful I'm fit enough for that to be an option
Organic veggies at less than half price n Wait****:)
A counselling session provided by our work once a month. It was good to unload to a safe place
The weekend is here! Have a good one MSE folk

So, yesterday I thought about planning and action has begun. I made a stock in the slow cooker last night. This morning I made a massive chilli with reduced organic beef mince and lentils, mushrooms and grated carrot.
I cleaned out the fridge and ate beans and made coffee for breakfast as they needed using up. I felt like a cowboy.
I made vegetable crudites to use with humous and I have apples in.
I will make soup with leeks and sweet potatoes next.
I will make a beetroot and celeriac coleslaw and I have made a tahini dressing
Then I will have healthy food at my fingertips for a good few days.
I have a yoga class this afternoon
3 good things
Waking up and not having to go anywhere. This day belongs to me! :T
I used half lentils and half beef in my chilli, for health and to stretch the quantity and I think I prefer it that way. Who knew?
The flowers my friend gave me when we went to the concert are over but they lasted so long and made me happy.
Have a lovely day reader

I will be paid on Thursday and thinking how I can do better this month...
I am going to have a fixed NSD on Tuesdays from now on, but I will allow myself £3 a day as a micro money amount. I can save the £3 on my NSD for the other days. Hopefully this will stop me feeling deprived and then having a 'sod it' episode. I'm starting to learn that holding the reins too tightly is not a good thing in my case
I had a yoga class yesterday and it was really good so I'm going backThis week I've been great with exercise
I want to concentrate on my appearance this month. My hair needs a cut, eyebrows need attention. When I was doing yoga I noticed a hole in my sock and a hole in my leggings tooSock in bin and legging recycled into a cleaning cloth
I found nice exercise clothes in my wardrobe and packed them in sports bag
I need a tinted foundation. I have bought other cheaper foundations but it's a false economy as I don't use them and the only one that makes me feel great is MAC, so I plan on getting it this month...
I've been cooking today and I've cooked a chicken and now have a meal plan for the whole week so I feel much more in control
The electrician is on holiday so I can't book him until he comes back, but that's okay
I need a plumber STILL so this is a priority for this pay day.
I heard from the bank about my proposal and they have asked me to call them to talk through my situation. I much prefer to do these things in writing so it's making me anxious and anxiety upsets my tummy...:( I 'll call them tomorrow...
3 good things
I washed up as I went along so the house is less messy
It's cold, but my gorgeous blanket and hot water bottle helped me stay cosy without turning on the heating
Bergamot essential oil. A few drops go a long way and it is so good for lifting the mood
Happy Sunday
