    Morning Campers!

Parsniphead mentioned a new kitchen in her latest post. I know how she feels. So I thought I would share my kitchen plans. I have lived for over a decade with what I would call a scuzzy kitchen. :( I spend lots of time in there as I love to cook so it is a source of stress for me :(

When my debt is paid I am going to put in a basic IK3A kitchen. I will (hopefully) get a 0% deal and the plan is to wait for the sale in March when it is normally 15% off. I hope to pay for it over 24 months at 0%.

I will get IK3A to install it, a more expensive option than getting a good fitter to do it independently but better for me in terms of stress and accountability. I will be taking a wall down between my kitchen and dining room and adding an island unit that also acts as a breakfast bar.

IK3A do the measuring and 2 hours of planning for £40 and I will take that option in October so I have 6 months to get it right. Plenty of time to work out the cost and budget. I will then be ready to go when the sale begins.

I have been wanting an oven for years but now I won’t get a free standing one. I will get an integrated one instead. It works out roughly what I would have paid. Just as well the other one I bought from JL did not fit and had to go back.

Enough day dreaming! Time to concentrate on the immediate disaster of squirrels in my loft. I am off to Kew Gardens today so it isn’t all bad news.

    Happy bank holiday everyone :)

Ha, ha. They are merely plans and life has a habit of getting in the way of plans but it is a coping mechanism for me. When I feel distressed at the state of the kitchen I remind myself I have a plan and then I feel better for a bit :)

I am WFH today and procrastination is the theme of the day.

Burning geranium oil today for calm as I feel edgy. :(

Hearing the squirrels scratching about is making me feel on edge. I will need to drink herbal tea until they are gone, coffee adds to my nerves when I am feeling this way.

I received a pension statement from work today and they have made errors. I would usually do a letter but I felt brave enough to phone them, ask for it to be rectified and send me a letter in writing confirming how they have resolved the problem. JOB DONE.:T

I hope your week is going well reader

Here and now, for me, is a squirrel infested nightmare actually. Pest control can't come out until Thursday afternoon either....
I also need a roofer to make sure they can't back in and there isn't anything left in the budget as I will need to pay pest control.
It will get sorted in the end but I could do without it.

  • Hi doing,

Have read your whole diary over the last few weeks and just wanted to let you know that you are amazing. I know things are tough for you but as I read your diary I could see you getting stronger and much more confident as each day passed.

Your food plans made me laugh a lot - one minute there was to be no buying YS food and having a monthly shop delivered with a few tops up in the week and then it was all change again back to YS only. I can't believe your haul of YS food you manage to get on a regular basis.

I always see any plans as fluid otherwise with no flexibility its easy to become disheartened if things don't go to plan.

I hope you manage to get the pesky squirrels sorted this week.

Will subscribe to cheer you on with your journey.

Thank you so much EagerElephant :)

Your post has come at just the right time. It made me smile just as I thought I might cry.

It is true I have a love/hate relationship with YS shopping and I still can't find the balance. I spend way too much time trying to decide on the best way to shop, eat well and save money :o

It is so horrible here, trying to work with the squirrels scratching and gnawing away. Your post has made me smile yes, but also remind myself that maybe I am stronger than I think. ;)

Pest control come out tomorrow morning and although it is a lot of money to spend and will clear out my savings, if I go back a year I did not have any savings at all...

My next big thing is to find a roofer to fill up the points of entry before a new lot of squirrels move in

I am trying to find the courage to speak to a neighbour for a recommendation. :o

Thank you again for your timely post :A

I expect to sleep well as I exercised tonight. I am now up to 40 minutes. It felt good today and afterwards the shower was lovely as I now have flip-flops. :)

I picked up some nice tea and YS goods. I spent £9 in total but did not buy any unhealthy stuff.

The edgy feeling I have had all day has gone now I have exercised :)

Looking forward to tomorrow when the squirrels will be tackled.

I have a pedicure in the afternoon (work will reimburse me from medical insurance) I need something nice. I am going to have a coffee somewhere nice too whilst I am in town too.

I hope your day has been good reader :)
