Chaos is abound in my life right now too - you're not alone! But hopefully you can use the next week to slowly catch up and find a nice balance.

Well done on getting the Tesco stuff sorted - it's not always easy to persevere with these things but it paid off.

Thank you for all the helpful posts. :) It helps to know I am not the only one living in total chaos. When chaos reigns it makes life so much more difficult and depressing. I can’t find stuff, knock things over and break stuff, spend because I just need to eat and there is nothing prepared. I am so much happier in a clean, organised home

I am WFH today when usually I am in the office on Fridays. I am so thankful. It is a lifesaver as for the first time since last Friday I feel like I can exhale. There is a lot to do. I began by making a pan of stock and a frittata then I began washing up and packing away. I will have to do this a few times to get all the washing up done :o There was no time to eat yesterday after 5pm so I woke up having slept well but I was hungry so I ate a breakfast of fruits, seeds, nuts and yoghurt and also a slice of frittata with avocado!

My class was so great yesterday. I am ignoring the pay so I can put in a claim at the end and put it straight towards the debt.:)

Like INOD I am giving myself the deadline of next Friday to have a house that is clean, ordered and happy. At the end of that period I will buy flowers (reduced price of course) put them on my dining table and light a candle. ;)

I am seriously thinking of getting rid of my TV. It is already faulty so I need a new one and wondering if it is the time to do without for a while. When I lived TV free I achieved so much more. If I am going to be working full time until 2019, not watching TV will free up time to follow my creative pursuits. ;)

Have a positive day everyone :)

No TV is an interesting idea actually - I'm not sure we could do it, but i applaud those who can. I need an hour of mindless escapism before bed, though!

I applaud your motivation to get your house in order - hopefully working from home today will allow you to take the first few steps. I'm also at home but up to my eyeballs in work so he house will need to wait.

The flowers and candle sound like a lovely reward for banishing your chaos!

I have a tv but only use it to watch DVDs and online stuff. I have lived without one no bother at all - I'd miss books much more.

Lovely idea to buy flowers as your reward.

Still thinking over the TV situation. Like JoJo have come to enjoy a bit of mindless TV. Think it is the rubbish I would miss more than the good stuff :o I think I will leave the decision until the current TV dies. I won’t replace it until my debt is repaid

    Drudgery/Cooking done yesterday
Washing up, dried and packed away X6
    Made a vegetable curry
    Made chicken stock
    Made a veggie frittata
Made a pan of quinoa for the fridge
Cleared old food out of the fridge and wiped shelves
    Cleaned chopping board
Ironing and packed away ironing and board
    Cleared and cleaned dining table
    Cleaned kitchen hob
Rubbish and recycling sorted and put out

Such a bad week that food went in the bin as I did not have time to eat it. I HATE food waste.

I knocked a cup off a side and ended up cutting my hand. It wouldn’t have happened if the cup was either in the sink or clean in the cupboard. It could have been an A&E job and all because I am living in a mess :o

Anyway, even with working yesterday I can see the improvements made in the house and I have healthy food prepped to take in to work today too. Healthy food made for tonight too :)

Working at the office today so I can’t do any house/garden work but after today I have 2 free days so I should be able to make real progress

Wishing you all a positive day

  • Already making progress. I used the 30 mins between two soaps to get kitchen sorted and dishwasher stacked. Laundry today for me.

I love the positivity of your posts - even when you have something negative to say or you're not feeling the best, you always have something positive in there.

That list of achievements is mammoth! Well done! I hope you're faring well on your way to chaos-free by Friday?

    Have a lovely weekend :)

Thanks JoJo I do tend to think that even when life is pants there is always something to be positive about :)

Well done INOD on your progress. I think sneaking in tasks between other activities makes sense and is the way forward :)

A good day at work. I have discovered a little Mr W shop where all the reductions coincide with my leaving work. I think I miss a good deal of the goodies but there always seems to be something left so hopefully this will become a regular thing.

    yellow sticker food

gluten free ploughman roll £3.24 to 59p
flowers £3.25 to 19p (looking at them now and they look so elegant!)
    gluten free bread £2.88 to 10p X3
    blackberries £2.10 to 54p X2
    thai basil £1.26 to 10p X3
    mangetout £1.00 to 25p

    Total spent £2.16 Total price £24.11 :T

Pleased with this little haul. The flowers look elegant in the vase, looking at them now. The Thai basil will be combined with pine nuts and olive oil and garlic to make a pesto. I don’t usually buy gluten free bread due to the price but it freezes well and I love eggs on toast so I am happy with my 10p loaves. :)

    Happy Saturday reader
