One month is nothing. If you want to do it then go on.

It would be a wonderful experience and you would start the year refreshed.

Another vote for Portugal. We went years ago when DS1 was in a rucksack and walked a lot near Estoi. It was lovely. Indeed the only 'us' photo on display in this house is one of OH, baby and mountain side from that (spring 2004) holiday.

Totally, just do it. I so get you on the Christmas thing. I always spend it with OH's family (who I adore) but sometimes the emotion of Christmas just makes me dream of being able to spend it somewhere alone, completely away from the pretense and forced happiness....! One month is nothing in the grand scheme of things :-)
  • Sounds amazing!

    Thank you all :A

You have helped make up my mind. It isn't a crazy idea after all.

I will be paid in 2 weeks and if the holiday is still available I will book it. If I had a credit card I would have booked it today. Then again if I had a credit card my debt would not be the lowest it has been in in 6 years.

I hope my courage doesn't fail me while I wait to be paid...

Have a good week everyone :)

OK, stairs and landings all hoovered and decluttered. Manky bathroom mat in the washing machine. Making veggie soup. All dishes clear :)

Yellow sticker bargains from MnS yesterday

    Scallops 14.30 to 3.60
    Free range
    chicken fillets 5.00 to 1.25
    Minced beef 4.25 to 1.10 X2
    Strawberries 3.00 to 1.10
    Mussels in
    sauce 5.00 to 1.50

    £35.70 for £9.65 :)

Also got 2 beautiful mugs reduced from £12 to £3. They wrapped them in tissue paper and gave me 2 gift bags that have ribbons and are beautiful. These will be nice presents for colleagues at Christmas :)

Confession? The shop where I got the mugs is where I went back for the duvet cover as there were only 3 left and I knew I would regret it if they were gone. SUPER EXPENSIVE I know…

I seem to be in a spending, wanting touches of luxury mood when I need to be in a cleaning mood.

INOD, Have you ring fenced today for mass cleaning? You seem to be making good progress, as are you Parsniphead

I have a full coffee card (so free) so going to make time to use it today with a book

The plan is to get my gym kit today too as I’ve been talking about this and getting nowhere FOREVER :o

    Happy Monday everyone.
