MT, I know you are :A but you have scared me to death now  If you mess up with YNAB I have ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE!!! Technology like YNAB makes me nervous. It was a NSD today but I need chocolate so I might need to cycle to the shops now...:o

Sorry DIA. I was referring to the desktop version all that time ago. We no longer have the power to mess around with things on the online version. They keep hold of control and keep it maintained in the background, which is brilliant as it was generally synching issues that meant I kept creating new versions!

Sorry, I really didn't mean to scare you at all. :o

Ah, that makes sense MT. I'm glad the new version is easier! You can make it up to me by answering my thousands of questions once I get started :rotfl:

Please feel absolutely free to ask questions. It's not like any spreadsheet I've used before so it can get a little confusing to start with.

A pattern is developing of 2 NSDs followed by a spend day and that feels okay as it still means I don't spend for more than half the week :T

A WFH day, so able to do some home-based bits and pieces instead of lunch. I didn't make soup as going off soup  I seriously need some fruit and veggies so when this day is over I will cycle to the shops and return a book and a DVD too. I want to return to 7 fruits and veggie servings a day. I do well on 5 but feel better on 7. For the past few days it's been a very scary 2

I put up a 1950s glass lampshade. I broke one because it wasn't properly stored. This one looks pretty. It took me years to put up but now it's up..I replaced a cheap shade in my hallway with a shade I got at IKEA last month in the bargain section for £2. Decluttering is helping me look at what I do have and question why it isn't being used. I repurposed a green glass 1950's dressing table tray. It was stored because I don't have a dressing table, now it's under my drink's decanters and looks great.

I will take my charity shop bag to BHF tomorrow if I can fit it in my bicycle basket.

I thought about my 5 year plan again. I can take 3 months unpaid leave if I want in a 5 year period. Once the debt is paid I will take it off :)

I didn't get the tutoring job I applied for.
I need to make more income or this process will be painfully slow :( I'll think of my options and come back to this. It's funny because I said the same thing several months ago which is why I went full time and here I am again, working full time and thinking it isn't enough...On the bright side I've managed F/T working brilliantly so perhaps it'll be the same when I add another job?

    3 good things

My health. Without it I can't increase my work options :)

I've been watching a pair of Bode* boots since last year. They've decreased in price from £189 to £139 and now £113. They have lots in my size so I'm still watching. They will go lower....it's exciting, my version of playing the stock market :rotfl:

I had a duvet cover that never quite fits and annoys me so I shredded it for cleaning cloths. It's my spare so I need to buy a new one now, but I don't care because I never liked it :T

    Happy Wednesday x

Sorry you didn't get that tutoring job DIA but I'm sure something else will turn up soon.

I love the sound of your 1950's things and that you're looking at your house with fresh eyes. It's funny how sometimes we don't really "see" things, we just get used to our surroundings. So yay for that :T

Ooh imagine 3 months leave, what a reward that would be :j

Thanks Orange Ena You are right about how we 'see' our homes. I love moving furniture or repurposing things. I have left over paint so that's my next project that I can do myself for zero cost. It helps, especially when I can't afford proper improvements just now :)

It was nice to wake up late and then catch up with a friend on the phone with a cup of tea in hand…

The plan was to go to the health club. I didn’t go because I got caught up with other stuff. Also, the plan to cycle to the gym is optimistic. I can’t face it, so tomorrow taking the train to the gym when I wake up, although that will cost £4 :o

One of the fab things about this diary is it shows me myself and there is the me I think I am and the me I actually am. I am amazed I can get to this age and still believe things about me that are not true (although I reserve the right to surprise myself :D)

I still think I’m spending too much money on food and the food I buy is too carb-heavy when I need veg heavy and more protein than carbs or my weight climbs, which it is doing now. It’s a more expensive way of eating I know, but I can do it cheaper. I can and I will :)

Slow cooked a turkey leg today with root veg and had with salad and it was delicious and there is enough left over to make a turkey stir fry with egg fried quinoa. I will also make vegetable soup and lentil soup with the bones. I was off soup but I think it's because I haven't had any decent stock....Not bad for £2. I will do this every week.

I bought organic apples. They are only 50p more than non organic and I can eat the skin and eat them on the go so it’s worth it to me. I also bought organic sweet potatoes as I like to eat the skin. I will have with home-made humus and raw mushroom and seed salad, carrot and raisin salad, lemon tahini dressing and a tin of sardines tomorrow

I took a very big bag of stuff to the charity shop. It included a few gifts and I know I shouldn’t feel bad because it’s the thought that counts and I love that people think of me and buy me things. I’m going to try and encourage the people who buy me gifts to choose consumables instead.:o

I had a spendy day. Fares (£4 )because it was too wet to cycle. I had a coffee in Nero (£2.15) I bought a reduced yogurt (.70) Got some stuff in Waitro**(£8) If I add on yesterday evening Lidl (£15) =£29.85!!! That spending was not part of the plan…

I explored baking gluten free biscuits to sell once I have a new oven in August but I’d need insurance and an inspection by the local authority and once I package them, there isn’t much of a margin in it….back to the drawing board in my search for an additional income stream…

I really think the answer to my extra income will be something I create as jobs like M&* for example pay so little and take so much time!! I like the idea of something home-based…

    5 year plan input

And yes, I'm trying to look forward to motivate myself. I'm going to take a 3 month sabbatical. I'd have to save for the 3 months no pay. My mum has retired to another country so the plan is time in the sun with her. My brother has an apartment there too so I plan to go when he isn’t using it. I will have a 3 month open house and invite some friends from England to stay in the apartment whilst I am staying with my mum.

    3 good things

    Having a day’s holiday :D

Turkey. I love it. It is low calorie, tasty protein. I’d forgotten about turkey legs…I was veggie for years and I didn’t miss bacon like most people, I missed turkey…

Lid* have these giant oranges. Nava they might be called. Honestly, they are like eating sunshine :)

    I hope you've had a good day like I have :)

There might be a bit of money to be made via a blog if you enjoy that kind of thing - yummy healthy cheap recipes and how to plan for a few days at a time? I'd read it... :)

    Thanks Rosa :A

I'm not sure blogging is my thing, but I appreciate your vote of confidence. For my voluntary work I work under a chef so food is a passion of mine. Perhaps I can find a way of making some money from food in some way in the future :)
