as per tescos terms about refunds,
For all returns - Please let us have any original packaging, tabs, labels and accessories and please package it all securely. If you’re returning an item because you’ve changed your mind, there may be a deduction from your refund if it has been damaged, opened more than necessary to check it’s working, or used more than reasonably expected.

So OP, as I asked before, how much are you prepared to gamble financially on your "scheme".
Let alone the question of whether you have the know-how to irretrievably wipe your personal data.0 -

How much off the price would YOU expect to pay for a used laptop verses a new one :rotfl:0 -
If a retailer sold used laptops as new, would that be a scheme or a scam?
You know what you are doing is far beyond what Tesco allow for in their refund policy.[/QUOTE
If a retailer sold my 2 week old used laptop as new that would be a scam. If they sold it as used or ex-display as I'd expect them to, then it wouldn't. Obviously.0 -

So the difference in price between new and used would be the difference in your refund.0 -

My brain is fully engaged, thanks.
There are definitions, in law, of what is considered to be reasonable handling, but as you are far cleverer than the rest of us I will leave it to you to either research for yourself, or find out from Tesco when you return it.0 -

Yes how foolish of them to try and make sure you don't do anything that will impact negatively on you.
I'm sure they won't make the same mistake again. Not like they'll be the ones paying! You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
