In again this week and thanks to Natty and Bossy for the lists.

Shopping delivered and all away -have started meal planning as well this year as got fed up with not knowing what to make for tea!!

Have had quick read through and thinking of all having rough time.

Living room looking quite tidy so may go make a start on clearing drawer in sideboard and take dog for a walk before it gets too cold.

    Hugs

Argh! Just did a lengthy post to have only 2 lines show up! Not sure what I did (or didn't do) but think I'll have a coffee before I try again

Happy birthday crowdpleaser, have a good day.

Paid stuff done, Dh fed and returned to his work just having extra caffeine fix before heading off to take mil for her scan, knitting is sorted and in my bag for while I'm waiting.

    Have a good afternoon all.

Have decided to resume what I started last year and make a pledge that every time I walk into another room I will put away 1 item from the 'new' room that is in the wrong place.

A couple of years ago I had one day, just one, when I wouldn't let myself leave a room without taking something from it and putting it in the room where it actually should be. To this day I rarely leave a room without checking and then picking something up to carry with me, and that habit was created in just one day. I can't tell you how much of a difference it's made to tidying up!

That spree took 90 minutes but I washed the superking window and all the paintwork as well as doing all the usual dusting and bedchanging, did the dining room window and vacuummed the lowest level.

    Cuppa time.
    Better is good enough.
  • Hi all,

Thought it was about time I introduced myself! I came across the flylady thread from two weeks ago through a link in a thread in the debt-free wannabee section and thought it sounds like a good way to get my house back in order as I used to be one of these people that spent the whole day cleaning the house from top to bottom but only ever seemed to scratch the surface (having 4 children at home will do that!) However, with it being the New Year and all, I didn't want to jump on the thread only to disappear and not stick with it so I lurked on last week's thread and found I was managing to complete Level 3 with the extras on alot of the days, but the extras that I had missed I caught up with over the weekend. And to add to it, my sister visited on Friday and made a comment about how nice the house was looking at the moment :) this was a huge compliment coming from her!!
    Anyway, on to today......
Monday - Living / Family Room
    Level 1
[STRIKE]Back to basics, grab a couple of bags / boxes and gather everything that doesn't belong in this room.
Declutter a drawer, shelf or box.[/STRIKE] We don't have any in the living room so picked the worst one in the kitchen and did that
    Level 2
    [STRIKE]Dust from top to bottom.
Vac everywhere, use the tools to get between those sofa seat pads only moving furniture if you can do so safely.[/STRIKE]
    Level 3
Polish mirrors, shine pics / photo frames. We don't have any!
[STRIKE]Wash a window or two[/STRIKE]. I'm banned from washing the glass as DH is a window cleaner so I washed the inside of the frames instead :)
    Extras
[STRIKE]Stick a wash on[/STRIKE]. Second one in the machine, first load already dry
[STRIKE]Replace any lightbulbs needed (Without splitting your hand open...)[/STRIKE] This is done when they go so don't have any which need replacing
[STRIKE]Wipe any grotty marks near light switches / door handles[/STRIKE] Door handles were done over the weekend, light switches done today.

I have also walked the dog (my own Level 1 addition as if he doesn't get walked, he becomes destructive!) done the food shopping for the week and been to the bank.

I hope I've done this right!

I may not get the chance to post everyday but I hope to check in from time to time. Hope everyone is having a good Monday x

**Cooked dinner (early meal), cleared and loaded dishwasher
**Two loads laundry washed, dried and put away
**Made arrangements for freegle stuff to be picked up
