If we vote for Brexit what happens

What a depressing thread. I find it difficult to understand how educated people can delude themselves into believing that leaving the EU will be a good thing, and that we don't need access to the single market. It's as though facts don't matter anymore. I hope the UK remains part of the EEU, but that seems increasingly unlikely.
I feel pretty screwed over by the baby boomers / Gen X.
Clearly, if you find it difficult to understand something, then maybe you should study the subject matter with more diligence. We are here to help if you want to ask sensible questions.
I'm sorry if your parents/ grandparents are unpleasant people: you have my sympathy but you will find common ground with toxic toastie.0 -
I am aware that GB's retaliation will hurt some EU countries but they can 'spread the pain' if it means other countries won't follow GB's path.
You appear to be over thinking the situation. In European terms 3 years is a long time. Much could happen. Too many parties involved with self interest to protect. There'll be deals. There'll also be paperwork. So will keep people employed.0 -

What does "restrictive trade" mean exactly?0 -

Many of those details are contained herein.
Start now and we can look forward to your return when you have been enlightened by reading the thread ......... next year, perhaps.
I have read it; it's just you're not being clear.
I take you don't understand the distinction between the EU single market and the EU customs union. If we leave the EU customs union, we can enter into our own trade agreements. It's not necessary to also leave the single market to do that.0 -

If so, take my original response to simply be "no".
Are you deliberately trying to provoke disagreement and/or argument?
I ask because you do seem to make a lot of unqualified assumptions.
Therefore I am unwilling to participate further in your attempts to derail this thread.0 -

I am in favour of the Uk parliament governing the UK.
I am in favour of restricting the total number of people in the UK.
I am in favour of young people having better housing, better access to health care, less crowding and a better quality of life.
I believe that trade makes both parties richer. Restricting trade makes both parties poorer than they would otherwise have been.
The UK would not restrcit trade in the way that the EU has done for the last 40 years.
Presumably you are in favour of leaving the protectionist EU in favour of free trade?0 -

Yes - but those are aims. Presumably you understand that implementing aims as simplistic and broad as those is impossible in the real world ?Presumably you are in favour of leaving the protectionist EU in favour of free trade?
No, especially given you were completely unable to provide a single example of a country / bloc more orientated to free trade than the EU. Clearly your hatred of the EU is blinding you to reality.0
