Maybe it's a PITA because we have too many people coming from the EU that we don't really need.

That can't be the explanation as we very much do need the people coming over from the EU.

You only need a small tiny percentage of the people coming from the EU - you don't need 330,000 every year.

You still seem to be obsessed with colour and religion, but I don't supposed I should be surprised.

He's not the only one. Even Vince has seen the light.
Vince Cable has admitted that the principle of free movement is not "defensible" because it treats Europeans more favorably those from around the world who have "more in common" with Britain.
"What we've been doing is we've saying to people from Bulgaria and Lithuania, ' you are free to come here'.
"But people from Canada or India, who have much more in common, are treated quite harshly.
"The present system is going to have to change and we've got to face the fact that migration from the European Union is going to managed in some way. I don't have any theological problem with that."

They get jobs, pax taxes, carry out valuable work, and make a huge contribution.

The problem we'll have trying to get any replacement system in such as the proposed points based one is that those who don't like foreigners care little for how qualified they are and just plain don't like foreigners.

We didn't really need that warning and we're already taking the appropriate steps.

they require housing, create overcrowding on transport and roads, require massive spending on new infrastructure, increase our trade deficit, produce massive strain on the NHS, schools and reduce the standard of living of the existing citizens and of course hold down wages, reduce the need to train Uk people, reduce the investment in productivity etc.

there are some people who think that special consideration should be given to a select group of white christian eurpean states irrespective of the contribution they make to the UK, rather than treat all the peoples and countries of the world on an equal footing : apparently these people don't see the special treatment accorded to white christian europeon countries as being at all discriminatory : I guess in the same way that the white people of Selma didn't think themselves as racists back in the 1950s. I suppose in 30 -40 years time people will look back in amazement at such views.

Your bullet points and then closing statement do not seem to agree. Maybe it has ground to a halt in some areas but looking at your bullet points the message seems to be 'things are slower than normal but will be a temporary blip'. So, where do we go from here? Sit tight if you don't want / need to move and get on with it if you do?

please note I have just assumed all bullet points are accurate factually and not your opinion.

Exactly. Which is why I said there was a complete mish-mash of facts, some contradicting each other.

Some of that is true but addressable and the rest just Daily Mail style vitriol.
a select group of white christian

Again, you seem obsessed by what colour and religion people are, particularly if they are immigrants. I don't care what colour or religion people are, and have hired many non-white and non-Christian people from the EU, so your argument says bad things about you and absolutely nothing else.

BTW, I'm currently trying to arrange hiring a very bright Pakistani guy into an office in the US. They completely control their own immigration, but it's subject to political meddling, so as a result it's a total nightmare. They use a points system but it's turned into pretty much a lottery.that doesn't benefit anyone.

The inevitable outcome is that large amounts of skilled work gets off-shored to India or Eastern Europe, and anything unskilled to Mexico or Indonesia/etc. Of course, unskilled Americans blame immigrants for their problems.

Oh, and at the same time, I'm doing a T2 Visa for another guy from Pakistan into the UK, and while it's slow, expensive and complicated, it's nothing like as bad as the US.

If that's our future, then Berlin looks rather tempting, don't you think?
