If we vote for Brexit what happens

Do you think we will have a referendum on the EFTA type deal that we will eventually settle on? Or will we just leave it to our elected representatives?
Remember the whole two speed Europe thing, where we were seen as in the slow lane by not joining the euro? I can see a role for EFTA to become the home for those second speed nations.. us and Norway, but also potentially Sweden and Denmark.
I think we would be crazy to walk away from all existing structures and rely solely on the WTO. Equally though I think that EFTA with the UK back on board would have more scope to dictate terms, rather than having to do what the EU says without representation.
Whatever happens to the UK, the EU is entering an existential crisis. It has to decide what it stands for... the march towards federalism, greater expansion, a safety net for poorer nations funded by richer ones, and so on. It can't be all things to all people.
Juncker has to accept a lot of the blame for this. He is blind to what's going on and should be out on his ear.
We will end up in EFTA, if not, then the EEA. What the referendum gave was a mandate to leave the EU, not to March off and not join any bloc... in a global world that makes no sense. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? You've been saying that for years we won't know what has happened for some time yet and as I said before to say you do is madness. I've never said what I think will happen just that no one can be certain.Crashy_Time wrote: »Basically the game is up, the general public know that house prices are falling, trying to control/shut down that narrative on internet forums is like telling a teenager about life before smartphones, pointless.0 -
This thread just seems a bit pointless now. It's just back and forth of the same opinion over and over.. Ok, some of you think there will be a crash, some hope there will be, some don't think there will be and some hope there won't be.
Every area is going to be different, just like it was pre-brexit and just like it always will be. You can't make a sweeping statement for every house in the entire country and nobody here, or anywhere else can say for sure what's going to happen. Personally I think a lot of threads on here are scaremongering for FTB'ers or nervous buyers for someones own agenda which, if so, is a sad state of affairs. Maybe the debate board is a better place for this if it really must continue?0 -
You're getting there steve, still a bit negative and under estimating our outcomes, but getting there none the less. You mention we should not March off and not join any bloc, now that's where you go a bit Cleggy again, no one with a thinking brain is advocating marching off and isolation, so best to avoid those banner like characatures of Brexit, we'll see plenty of them at today's crybaby protest
Talking of cry babies, Mathew Paris on Ch 4 News last night, what a bloody churlish wimp, anyone would think we were going to war, pathetic0 -
Cells you ask me who we will be like. We'll be like Great Britain.
Again a lack of vision seems to underly the gloomy points made. Once upon a time the Norway option did not exist. Norway made it exist. The UK option does not exist....yet0 -
Can you honestly not see that in years to come leaving will be the best decision for us?
I can honestly say, no, I can't see that clearly. It may be, or it may not be, but anyone claiming to know this as truth is suffering from the Dunning–Kruger effect.Do you honestly think we wont survive post brexit?
Not one person I can think of has claimed we won't survive. Most remain voters seem to think we'll be fine but possibly worse off economically. We gain the illusion of sovereignty so that is something.0 -

.
Every negative person I've ever met tells me they are a realist.
I'm not an optimist by nature, but when it comes to Brexit, I can say with all certainty it will be a success, and obviously so.
The point many cant get beyond is this notion the EU holds the whip hand, so until folk recognise this is a delusion, it's difficult to get any further.0 -
UK corporate confidence slumps after Brexit vote

Haven't they received Conrad's memo on Britain's new status as an investor paradise, a globally oriented tiger in the west???A new survey of UK corporate chiefs has shown that - as feared - the Brexit vote has hurt business confidence, badly.
Credit Suisse says that corporate sentiment has “deteriorated out of all recognition” since June 23rd. For the first time since 2013, more companies are expecting to cut than raise spending.
The research shows that some firms have cut back on hiring and spending already.
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -
