Brexit Britain turns against globalisation, blaming it for low UK wages and inequality poll reveals

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/globalisation-poll-low-wages-inequality-technology-comres-a7467491.html

    This is priceless:
Some 40 per cent agreed that “technology is widening the gap between rich and poor in Britain”, while 32 per cent disagreed and 28 per cent did not know.

The outcome is particularly worrying, given that it will be high-tech industries, requiring well-trained tech savvy new workers, that will help the UK compete in the global market.

This just sums up Brexit, many of whom are well beyond the point where they have any input into Britain's future, who think that Facebook and contactless payments are going to disappear post Brexit.

    The poll was demographically representative.

So 49% of those questioned will have voted remain.

I love it when leading lights of campaigns make total twits of themselves on Twitter waxing lyrical without thinking things through.

It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

Scots have had two indyrefs in my lifetime, you're hardly residing in a state where you're being denied the opportunity to go it alone.
Persuade enough of your number and the dream is realised, from my area of the UK it looks like Scots like pooling and sharing resources with the rest of us.

It is true that the English have long championed for people to be able to choose their own form of government.
Your issue is that you/SNP can't impose a dictatorship on the people of scotland and force them to agree with you.

The twit is yourself for showing such intolerance although no surprise.

Totally agree with him on this. I've watched a number of documentaries that bear him out in his conclusions - that is that working class communities are under threat. The absolute best thing about being brought up working class is the fantastic sense of community - it makes up for having less material stuff. Take that away from the working classes and what are they left with?

He's heading in the right direction with these arguments imho. Good on ya mate.

I agree with much of this, but

"Andy Burnham suggests UK may need to leave single market to rebuild North of England"

In my opinion it does not take leaving the EU or the single market to rebuild the rest of the UK outside of the South East.
I am strongly of the opinion that successive Governments based in London have neglected the rest of the UK and in doing so have neglected working class communities outside of the South East. The present Governments position (fixation) on Heathrow is a classic example of favouring the South East over the rest of the country.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

In this case is it a Luxembourger style sweetheart deal they're after or a large corporation realising the illegal salad days are over and opting for a country where a soon to be 17% corporation tax rate is available?

That is a (promised by politicians) soon to be corporation tax rate of 17% on U.K. earnings. With the EU fighting against transfer pricing that may not be the advantage it would have been in the past.

If the UK protect my corporate earnings by allowing transfer pricing then so be it. But that will be defined as a shady deal by every one but Britain!

You seem to be unaware of the EU Commission Work Programme for 2017 which intends to harmonise corporation tax rates at 25% throughout the bloc.
