If we vote for Brexit what happens

Those institutions don't make laws, and specifically laws that involve our borders, taxation, social security, environmental policy, employment law etc etc which override domestic law.
I don't know how you can compare the two.
Those institutions make rules that we are expected to abide by. You can say they are not laws but you are playing with words.
The UN Charter on Human Rights states the minimum standards of Human Rights we must agree to support, the NATOTreaty stipulates the circumstances in which we are required to provide our armed forces to support another member, the WTO defines a dispute resolution process for ensuring members do not break the principles under which they have agreed to trade.
The analogy is valid. Membership of NATO could require us to help defend Turkey or Canada if they were subject to an armed attack.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -
we are expected to abide by, but not the highest level players, this is easy to see if you look at the ICC and the western leaders0

Yes and a key Leave augment is that we give up a 1/28th of a seat at the EU table, and take our own full seat speaking for ourselves at all the global bodies that in many ways set the rules the EU incorporates.
This is why Cleggs argument we would have no influence on the world stage was so very daft, always amazed me that bovines cheered such utter nonsense.0 -
democracy is what it is: ok, you hate it and would prefer another way
Democracy comes in many forms. We've just voted for a different form.
..because they've assessed which form of democracy is better? Doubtful.
Or because they hope a different form of democracy will deliver a different outcome which is more in line with what they'd like happen?
..and vice-versa.0 -

Looks like Japan is worried about what Brexit will do to their investments.0 -

I've no problem with anyone proposing or advocating alternative types of democracy.
It would have more creditibility if that was done before the result was known.0
