So, April's OPs sees the mortgage total not only under £120k but under £119k :j
MFi3 target is £99999 and hoping to get there a quarter early!
Not much on this weekend: one thing we're doing more of is decluttering, so looking to sell a few items on Facebook. Any money will go on the OPs
It's cloudy but dry so off out for a walk to get some steps onto the Fitbit :T:MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000

Managed 16k steps today so feeling very happy :j
Redundancy money came through :j As yet, we've been sensible so only OP'd a small amount ( couple of £s) but considering a chunk next month once we've had a pension discussion with the financial advisor next week. I have managed to save £50 in 50ps so that will go off the total this weekend
OH's contracting is going well and there seems to be work around if/when his current work ends.
I've started to think about tackling some decorating: kitchen and hall, stairs and landing haven't been touched since we moved in 10 years ago so tentatively looking at that as well as doing something about the jungle that is our garden. I just need to find some motivation: it might help if I could find a colour I'd like :rotfl:MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000

Well not really progressed on the decorating front, but we are having a sort out as DD is back from uni and we needed to get her some wardrobe space, cue trip to IKEA.
OH's current contract has been extended and there's talk of permanent work, although he's not sure it's something he wants as he likes the variety it gives him. So far we're not worse off, although he's terrible at logging on to the bank to pay himself
Managing good OPs at the moment due to lots of Topcashback :T and looking forward to Ed Sheeran at Glastonbury tonight :T:T:T
Best of all, it's only 2 weeks until we head off to see my parents in. Spain :beer::beer:MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000

All sounding really positive Bunty.
Is your OH pleased that he took the redundancy? My work went through a restructure recently and i was secretly hoping for the redundancy as a nice pay out and a kick to try something else ;P
The glasto coverage was fab! Not watched Ed Sheehan yet but loved the Foos set on Saturday night! Hope you enjoyed Ed!First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!0 -

Ed was great!:j
OH is pleased he took the redundancy. It was definitely the right thing to do. The only thing he misses with working for himself is the office environment. The plus side is that he gets loads done working from home! The plus side for me is that someone is home thinking about dinner so we don't end up with too many take-aways that cost too much :rotfl:MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000

Woah, it’s been 6 months since I last posted! What’s been happening? Well, OH’s contracting became permanent work a couple of months ago. He’s actually worse off (assuming he always had a contract), but the security is important so can’t knock that. There’s enough in his business to pay a sizeable amount into a pension which we’ll continue to contribute to.
The best news is that we’ll start 2018 with less than £105k to pay on the mortgage: MFi3 aim is to get to £99,999 by Jan 2019 so we’ll ahead of target. Best thing ever would be to pay it of by my 50th in 2021, but that might be too much to expect.
Lots of holidays planned in 2018 as we’ve several special birthdays. Very lucky to be able to afford to have these as well as pay off the mortgage but somehow haven’t been motivated to do the decorating :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Ah well, maybe in 2018!
Hope you all had a great Christmas and happy and healthy 2018 xMFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000

Mortgage update:
Balance start Jan 2017: £124,213
Balance start Jan 2018: £104,860
Reduction = £19,353
Target for overpayments this year is £15k. Should be under £100k in April and target for next Jan is £80k.
Fingers crossed!MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000

I've just realised how bad I've been updating this thread :embarrassed
We've had a lovely year with some great holidays and special memories. The decorating still isn't done so that's a must for next year, but the mortgage is down to under £80k already thanks to a helping hand from a small windfall :j:j:j:
With any luck we might pay this thing off before my 50th (July 2021). Managing to finally pay off a credit card this month and payment for our car ends in December so that will all help...MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000
