Nice extra to throw at the mortgage there.

Agree with your position, not worth paying the exit charge as you've probably only 4 months to go before you can book your next one anyway (if your lender allows you to book 3 months ahead). I'd got 2 more years to go when I bailed.

You're doing well on the exercise front too :)

I'm actually able to book 6 months in advance and can switch to a better deal if one comes up in that time (as there's no fees), so happy about that!

Really need to up the exercise: doing the Sport Relief Swimathon in a couple of months and want to beat my time from last year!

So pleased it's the weekend! Looking forward to relaxing as next week is busy one.

Trip out tomorrow to get some things for DD's impending trip to SE Asia. So I guess the finances will take a hit, but it's not unexpected. Hoping I might fit in a training swim as I really haven't swum much recently and need to be ready to do 2.5k.

I'm also slowly attacking the paintwork and walls in the kitchen with sugar soap. I'd like to re-paint at some point. It's green, which is my fave colour, but just not a very nice shade. Thinking of a grey-blue and maybe a feature on one wall, but need to get it all prepped first! Not in a rush so just attacking a bit each weekend.....

Well, finally got my mortgage call and the rate is all sorted and agreed. I've kept the term the same (it's currently 15 years, 11 months) as it was more paperwork to reduce the term. Does anyone know a mortgage calculator that allows me to work out projected repayments that lets me put in years and months?

Interesting thing was that they told me LTV is now 25%:T

Didn't make a training swim, but walked a fair amount whilst out and when I got home my Swimathon pack has arrived so hopefully that will motivate me!

Had a really enjoyable weekend and came home tonight to much excitement: the 6 monthly mortgage statement arrived! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

What it shows is that we should get below the shocking sub-£16 per day interest around May so that's the aim before the remortgage and then the daily rate will drop below £9 a day. That's such a saving!

Wonder if we can get that below £9 by year end?!

Sure, you call up the mortgage team and explain you want to re-mortgage with them at the end of your fix. I had looked and knew what rate I wanted but they can also offer you advice. They held the rate I wanted until one of their team called me back to talk it through.

As it's a remortgage there's no new valuation etc. required so after that call I'm now awaiting the paperwork to review and then I have to respond. After that, it's just a case of them processing and noting the new rate won't start until 1st July. As I've picked a fee free rate, if a better rate should appear I can apply for that instead. Pretty fuss free really and good rates :T:T:T
