Listen, I'm not perfect either but I've been to university and I'm also quite young...

    1. Your OP was in the 1st person and anyone reading it would assume it was about you.

    2. You then went on to say that it was about your friend.

So you've either lied about it being a friend's post (saving face) or you lied when writing your original post in 1st person (Harvard referencing? :T)

BUT nobody really cares in fairness!

You say nobody cares but why do you keep going on about it then?

    This is fun isn't it!

It doesn't make any difference as you still have no case, I just thought it might be a credible reason for the conductors advice...Would the conductor be aware of the amount of time someone was waiting at a stop, he most probably just thought it was worth asking at the desk instead of him giving a flat out no...After all you don't ask you don't get.....Unfortunately you have learnt in this instance 'you don't get'...Anyway a lesson for the future.... Always double check before handing of your money, that what you purchase is exactly what you want.

The conductor would have had an idea it wasn't really possible as the journey alone takes longer than 20-25 minutes but yeah

Hilarious - I have this device called a mobile phone, you can text on it you know and replies come back. Like magic!

You txt on here you were going to ask your friend, you txt him, he txt back and you reposted all in 4 mins....;)

Nobody cares if it was you or a friend as the answer is still the same, should of just stuck to the 'I' and not changed to a 'friend' as it starts to diminish your story when things get changed half way through...

Anyway, is it possible the culprit can maybe sell it on, or is it used in conjunction with ID?

Do you text any friends much? It is possible to send someone a message saying ''did conductor tell you you only had 30 mins for refund or could you have misheard?'' and for them to reply saying ''no I could hear them fine'' very quickly. I use swipe text on my Samsung, it's very handy

Again I'm hearing nobody cares, then yet another comment

Maybe, I don't know if it has name or photo on it. I wouldn't dream of suggesting that on here though as someone may go mad about it

I crunched the numbers, though, and court action would have to be successful at least 71% of the time if you paid £35 for a £49 debt. Good luck to your friend :p
