It does tend to tell you on the HE page, although you have to look hard sometimes to work it out. You will see that sometimes hotels on there have more than one rate, and it will say non-flexible under one price, so it means the other is flexible. Also be sure to pick one without breakfast, for some reason they don't like this.
Then just make sure the rate on the other website is the same, either non-flexible or flexible. I actually wasn't sure on the website I was comparing against, as it was so much cheaper than HE, so I did a live chat with them to confirm. The live chat box stayed on the screen so was then in my screenshots, so was all very helpful!
I think its better to look at flexible rates, although they are more expensive. When you book the flexible rate on HE, at the basket it gives you the option to add cancellation insurance at £2.49. I think the possibly charge an admin fee to cancel otherwise, so to be safe I added this on, just in case they came back for any reason and denied my claim, I would have then just cancelled the room and only lost £2.49. Non-flexible rates don't allow you to add this insurance from what I can see, so if they did then deny the claim you would be stuck with that hotel room.
Other than that, just make sure things like double bed or twin beds are same, and that check in and check out times are both the same on both websites.
LS, thank you so much for this. I am not sure if we will need a hotel before we travel but I am so tempted to play!! Thank you, and especially for the insurance tip.0 -
Goodnight all. I've caught up now.
Had an eye test at Boots this evening and only realised when I got back to the car that they had not charged me. Was this a mistake?!0 -
I know what you mean, Savvy. I get almost mortally offended if I run out of an item and have to buy something at 'normal' price, my sense of outrage is profound!
I've got the cleaning/laundry side of things almost nailed, though. I buy Daz when it is £4 or less for a 40 wash pack. T/rolls are Nicky Elite from HB, ditto thick bleach at 39p. Morning Fresh at 50p from corner shop (Fairy Liquid gives me dry, cracked skin.) Flash with bleach at £1 when on offer anywhere and Flash for floors also when £1 anywhere, and that's my lot really. Regina Blitz kitchen roll when it's half price or less (max spend 1.34.) Kleenex (man size) under £1 a large box, not those square boxes. A can of Pledge lasts forever, and I have 2 in stock, so it's only fabric conditioner that's a flexible purchase really.
Fruit jellies were 50p if I recall correctly.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -

Free if over 60 anywhere, don't know if that applies to you. x“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -

Cannot believe this story made it on to QT
There's politicians on there who quite simply don't have the time to look for a ticket that costs less than £168 :rotfl:
Wonder how eco friendly Mr Cox is? Taking a plane to make a journey that's perfectly do-able by rail isn't very good for the environment
I won't even get started on parents who wear PJs to take their kids to school  :rotfl::rotfl:0 -

Just had a phone call from my sister - her son has planned a party in their house whilst we are away visiting Dad :mad::mad::mad:
By chance she has found out as someone texted her about it
At the moment - the trip has been delayed whilst she tries to stop party/ threaten son etc:(:(

No, not quite yet. And I don't look my age so I think they were just tired at the end of the day. I hope no-one gets into trouble over it!0
