    nice letter in the post.

youngest son went out to Hong Kong last July on a 6 month contract and his flight with Cathay Pacific was delayed by 24 hours.

I used the MSE template and wrote the compensation letter out but it was not until just after Christmas when he was back in the Uk briefly that we discussed it and the letter was sent off signed with a copy if his booking confirmation .

so today, nearly 4 weeks later we have had a reply and the compensation is the full $600 - 458 euros :j

not quite the full cost of the flights but a good proportion anyway. Obviously I paid for the flights (or at least it was some of the money my dad left me which I am not spending on myself only on the kids when they need the big ticket things)
but if his sister and her BF set a date for this year it will probably be me paying for the next set of flights again ...

Keep it that way....Like you say complicated if you want to leave and very expensive....Only one person benefits from a D ...:rotfl::rotfl:

Good morning, even splitting up from a long term relationship cost money, if you have any joint financial commitments , my bro in law found that out :)

My Baylis & Harding gown set has also been cancelled too.

I phoned them as wording of email "We have successfully cancelled your order" suggested I had cancelled it. I said it would have been nice to have had an apology like Boots as it was not clear. :o

    Morning all :)

For once I was tucked up in bed by 10pm last night this stashing is tiring work. I have allocated everything and I will be taking a Jack Wills rucksack back that I have decided I don't need. :o

annoying isn't it. I was so mad
I'd missed it twice - I expect that as soon as one set comes
into the warehouse the system automatically sends out the restock emails

It is as one was to replace who I originally thought jack wills was for but have decided it is definitely aimed at teens. I was going to return the baylis bag I got too from Ts but I might have to keep that instead.

Although I might think about filling a makeup bag with loreal bits I got ridiculously priced last year. Eg 87p for a lipstick as were RTC and 342. :D But again think I may have done same couple years back with BS makeup although gift was well received. :rotfl:

its difficult isn't it - you have to sort of work on a 3 year cycle - what you gave in 2015 you cant give as a gift again until 2018 - so for us that rules out scarves, candles and molton brown.
I can though do gifts that come with tote or weekend bags and dressing gown sets :D
and I don't think eldest child has had perfume from anyone for Christmas and her birthday so I can look out for good offers :)

    Morning all

Wet and miserable day here today. Not freezing though thankfully. DS2 at home with me this morning as he is a bit under the weather. I'm feeling much better than I was :) Only needed my inhaler a couple of times overnight and cough seems to be subsiding :j Will continue to rest as per Drs orders until I get checked out again next week. DS2 and I are snugged up under a blanket having a cuddle :smileyhea

Funny you should have been talking about wills last night. I've been thinking a lot recently that I need to get one sorted for me and DH, as Mum is sorting out my Grandma's.
Just seen on TV that Which have produced a free guide to making wills. The number to ring is 0800 223 0784 if anyone is interested.

You're outdoing me again:T:T. I'll have a look at what information I got from M yesterday. If an item is better than, or matches, those prices, then it will go onto the list, if not then I'll forget about it. I doubt they will be as good as B&M. Just having a look at one now... Thornton's Snowman Gift Pack 245g, £1:eek::eek:. That's v.expensive price - it's a triple piece set but I don't think it's a big one! Let me know if that is better than the weight on the B&M one (I doubt it) and, if it is, I'll put it onto the list. I ought to do a B&M list:rotfl:. Really, in the light of 300g Toblerones at 75p in the middle of last year, I should not be considering £1 prices for much lower weight like that!

    savvy, would never outdo you!
However Ronnie Reindeer was 250g, so not as BIG as I thought!

I have Xmas lists going back to 2011. But this is for a birthday and I don't keep lists for those. If it was one of my girls I could ask in passing what I gave them but it's a cousin's daughter. The makeup wouldn't be the problem but I had a few ofthe makeup bags so it might be the same. :o
