Remember, I could turn up anywhere! But not in Swad. again soon as obviously I've already now been there.:) Actually, you should sort out the road signage around there. Very unclear compared to the rest of the places on my journey - I took a wrong turn, went the wrong way out of the town completely (delayed slightly more by temp. lights too:() and hadn't a clue where I was going:rotfl:.

I got lost aswell savvy in swad :rotfl::rotfl:

    Evening all!

Been awol due to RL, thanks Savvy for the new thread, I still have 8k posts to read in the previous one :o

Long story short, DW has had a chest infection (and is asthmatic), was given antibiotics which didn't work, then given steroids which have the side effect of stopping her insulin working so was admitted to hozzy with DKA on the 27th Dec, she should have gone in sooner but she's too bloomin stubborn, she's been home about a week now and is on the mend but still really poorly, local GP was furious with her treatment (they had made numerous errors, blamed her for not taking meds, faulty equipment, lost samples, discharged her without treating the chest infection etc - usual stuff around here it seems:()

Kids also couldn't visit her last few days she was in as she developed shingles, and while we don't mind them catching chicken pox from it, they are now a risk to other patients as could be infectious :(

Oh, and she's just been put back on the steroids again to treat the original chest problem  sugar currently under control so fingers well and truly crossed.

No, sadly the days of old fashioned thank you cards have gone but we got thank you messages from both of them and that is quite normal I imagine
We put no stipulations on how the money is spent only no over the top wildly expensive hen and stag does that take weeks to organise and cost hundreds

OMG I do hope eldest child does not turn into Bridezella but she has all of the potential to be one :rotfl:
At the mo I am standing on the sidelines awaiting events and I've not waded in with unasked for advice or suggestions or questions, it's very early days yet
I think I know more about football than I know about wedding planning and that is less than zilch so I don't know what help will be needed of me

Rant away, I need the voice of calm and reason - everything is going to get very slightly deranged.
Oh says I need to be keeping a dairy of how things progress in a new notebook I got at Christmas :)
I don't think thank you cards are any more or less old fashioned than engagement cards. They said thank you to you, you said congratulations to them, no need for any cards on either side. :D

DD1 and BF didn't get the flat a higher offer was accepted. :(

I don't get all this secrecy they have no idea whether they were close or long way off of accepted offer no chance to offer slightly more I know they were stretching it but we may have been able to rally around if not huge amount. Disappointing as won't make things easier for the next time not knowing if they were far out...

Can you check sold prices? I seem to think they are 3 months behind or something like that.

If they could only afford it by putting in an offer that they couldn't afford (if you get what I mean) then it's probably for the best :o

    Question ?

    Please

The turkey mince, do I buy 2 of the 500g or 2 of the 800g please?

I've not bought it, but I believe it's this...

ASDA Butcher's Selection British Lean Turkey Mince
    500g
    Product Code: 4457673
    £2.45

Not sure how they can call it 'lean' it's 7% fat (I thought lean was <5% or is that just for Slimming world)
