Ok in my attempts at not shopping we had run out of bread.

Thought if I go supermarket I would come back with more so thought would have a walk up corner shop. :D

Dressed up for the weather first outing of my hat and gloves this year, thick fleece under my parka and got told by Mr TS I looked like Mrs Flump and DD2 that I looked like an alcoholic. :o:o

And did they send you a thank you card thanking you for your kindness in transferring a large um of money to them? I hope so if your DD is moaning about not receiving an engagement card. Personally I think its rude to expect anything, I'm sure you have told her how happy you both are for her, and you have given them a large sum of money, plus are helping with planning things. Is an engagement card really that important? I think not.

In the nicest possible way mhoc, I hope your daughter isn't going to turn into a bridezilla (although if she does I'm sure the stories you could tell on here would be hilarious!). I think sometimes couples can get a little carried away in their own bubble and can end up a little rude and forgetting their manners.

That sounded like a bit of a rant, I hope you don't take it like that mhoc, I just don't like seeing people taken for granted. :o

No, sadly the days of old fashioned thank you cards have gone but we got thank you messages from both of them and that is quite normal I imagine
We put no stipulations on how the money is spent only no over the top wildly expensive hen and stag does that take weeks to organise and cost hundreds

OMG I do hope eldest child does not turn into Bridezella but she has all of the potential to be one :rotfl:
At the mo I am standing on the sidelines awaiting events and I've not waded in with unasked for advice or suggestions or questions, it's very early days yet
I think I know more about football than I know about wedding planning and that is less than zilch so I don't know what help will be needed of me

Rant away, I need the voice of calm and reason - everything is going to get very slightly deranged.
Oh says I need to be keeping a dairy of how things progress in a new notebook I got at Christmas :)
“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”

I've had similar remarks made to me the other day  I was furious with dh and didn't find it funny. I was wrapped up warm that's all I cared about. And I had a new pair of my cheap boots on
He said I looked like a bag lady  so today I wore my fur hat :)
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.
